    Strongman plaque

HI all Made this for a Strongman event this weekend. I am plaining on donating it to the winner. Should of had a frame but I have run out of time...

  2. Thanks to Kevin for giving me the image and confidence and help to make this - and - to the help everyone else gave out. So - my son got promoted and is now "the man" just under the owner of the company. So - he's still going out on calls in his truck - BUT - he's got a desk. I left space on one side in case he wants one of those pens you mount on name plates. Or his card holder. With the virus I have not been able to visit him or his work. So - here it is - and next up - a Dodge Challenger. I've put both patterns in the library up here. As with building fishing rods - I share all.

    Stack cutting

Tried cutting this with some new thinner wood that I bought last week. A beautiful pattern done for me by @multitomNow, do I frame it like I did the Bird on a Tap or leave as is.Decisions, decisions Oh and because the wood was thinner, I tried cutting two together. That worked well.I do love what I do

  5. I have one shadowbox Halloween pattern, this time I wanted to make one with "Happy Halloween" sign, but not only words, also with some elements, I think it came out nice. I know that you will say that it would be look much better with stains or different types of wood, but I give leave choosing colors to my customers. Cell Phone Stand

This is not exactly scrolling so I didn't put in the bragging section. Things are a little slow so I just decided to post something. After scrolling for an hour or so both my eyes and butt get tired. I take a break and read a book on my cell phone. This is made from scraps and glued together with Titebone "Quick and Thick" adhesive. I think that's the name of the stuff. I may shoot it with a spray can of paint. Not meant to be pretty, just functional. The pegs, I'll round the tops.

  7. A fun cut for me is the one I just discovered and want to do, but don't have the wood or I have a backlog of other projects that have to get done first.

  8. A fun cut, to me, is usually one that I am planning for a particular person that I know will love the final project. The anticipation of making something someone is sure to love is enjoyable. It is also a fun cut when everything just clicks, the radio plays the right song and the sawdust flows, the blade stays on the line...

Finished this piece up yesterday not a lot of scrolling to it but nice project to get a break from the outdoor furniture I been at most the summer. It's made from 1/2" plywood and roughly 21" around. Big thanks to my better half for painting it for including the lettering.

  10. I'm always looking for a project that will challenge me and be useful when it's done. There are so many boxes, bowls and baskets that I want to make and so little time left.

The camera/phone is one of the handiest things I own. I take pictures of everything I do.

  15. I took my Delta apart and found a bearing on the pivot rod that was dry and it was making a sound. Works fine now and taking apart and reassembly was greatly assisted by the videos mentioned and taking pics at each step along the way.

    Saw Maintenance?

Yeah, l do too. Love pictures. Years ago I was heavy into photography. Had a fortune in several cameras and lens. Now just a cell phone and the results are nearly as good.

  26. My "fun" projects are: 1. get through it without breaking or really messing it up. No designer firewood! 2. comes out really nice after finishing or a good outcome on a finish I haven't tried before. 3. It sells and I make money on it! Major Bonus fun and pride: Something that will be a keepsake for someone!! I've done several wedding/anniversary signs this year, so now they pretty much meet the three criteria above every time. But the major bonus is that 99% of the couples will hang it on the wall and get "a warm fuzzy feeling" every time they look at it. THAT really makes me happy.

  32. Never tried it, but I doubt I would, just thinking of how fast you could ruin the piece if something goes wrong the sand paper leaves a slightly frosted edge when viewed from the side

    Cell Phone Stand

I had one of those contact phone chargers and I have the same phone as you I think. Mine is an S7. Anyway, I used to lay my phone on the charger at night rather than plug it in. It cost me a battery and a new back cover for my phone. The phone got too hot. Anyway, be careful with yours. Mine is in a landfill nearby.

Such a beautiful painting. Just want to reach out and pet him. Very nice cutting. I like the frame as it kind of gathers the dog in and does not leave him out in space.

    Saw Maintenance?

I agree. I've watched all the videos because I sold my almost 3 year old type2 to my buddy. The saw has a lot of hours on it but I installed the Lever pegas chucks when they first came out. I always hated the dewalt tension. When the saw was new I was setting at 3 but after 6 months I was over 4.I was just starting to get the tension noise when I put the pegas on. That saw still runs like brand new. But I know I will have to help him rip it down and do what Kevin did

  46. How odd, at least to me, I use 77 all the time and have no problems getting it off. Mineral spirits work just fine.

  47. A fun cut to me is one that is relatively simple and quick to do, but one that produces a good looking final project. A large, intricate, challenging cut may be satisfying to do as well, and something I really enjoy, but they normally require a lot of concentration and patience so therefore, not what I call a "fun" cut. Edit: I have to qualify my statements as it is what your definition of "Fun" is. IMHO there is a big difference between "Fun" and "Enjoyable/Satisfying". A "Fun" project is most likely enjoyable and satisfying but a "Enjoyable/Satisfying" project may not be "Fun" to do.

  48. I’m always concerned about patterns loosening while I’m cutting. I use 3M 77 spray adhesive on the pattern, no tape underneath. As Brenda mentioned above, I spray mineral spirits on the cut pattern. It will lift right off. Then wipe off the mineral spirits and you’re good to go. If you don’t want to use mineral spirits, then you can heat the pattern with a heat gun or a hair dryer. The heat will loosen the adhesive and the used pattern will lift right off.
