I've done these before, one of you folks gave me the patterns but I don't remember who. Thanks again though. I used Poplar and each are about 11 1/2" x 13". I did them for a lady I work with. Thanks for looking.

  3. J/K, well kinda.... Wife and I did a project together today getting ready for our first event in a few weeks. We made an Iggy special display rack Still needs a finishing job and a bit more sanding but came out fine. Made from scraps around the shop including: Pallet wood, wood trellis' for the cross members and some old 1/2" ply laying around. Had enough to make 2 but stopped at the one for now. Thanks always in advance for reading

  4. One of our good friends passed away yesterday. She had Lou Garrig's disease. Her last few months she had a very tough time even breathing with her machine and was unable to even speak last month. I cut these Sue Mey's plaques and give them to anyone I know who has lost a loved one. They are less money than flowers and I hear 'thank you's" from people I made them for in the past years and how they cherish and have them hanging as a reminder that others care also. Dick heppnerguy

    Kayak Fisherman

Made this for a childhood hunting and fishing buddy I've lost touch with except for FB. He and his wife enjoy kayak fishing. I borrowed heavily from the style of Kimberly Francis. I'm not at all happy with the trees but they were the last thing I cut and after several attempts to "tweak" them I decided I better leave them alone as I don't have it in me to do it all over. It's 5 1/2" by 12" out of mystery pallet wood.

    #182

This is the 182nd cross I've done over time. Nice piece of oak for a pattern I really like. 183 and 184 are sitting on my saw half done. I have 92 on the walls in the garage and including in the ones in the house I have 119 all together. No idea what I'm gonna do with them all.

  9. I read the post about how to do away with fuzzies and I believe I have stumbled upon a way not have them in the first place, hence no torches, files or other devices to get rid of what is no longer a problem. What I found out, at least for BB Ply, is using the right blade and the fuzzies just did not happen. I have recently switched to Pegas #3R mg and here is a photo of my project just after cutting it with NO sanding or touch up of any kind. I see no fuzzies in it. Take a look and see for yourself. comments welcome Dick heppnerguy

Finished and sent off -- I think it came out great! Completed size is 36 x 24 finished with Helmsman spar urethane (will be mounted on his house ). I'm having fun with these but my driveway looks like it snowed sorta -- lots of sawdust from grinding the shape. The final picture is the one I used for a pattern.

New customer has added 3 things to an already being cut pattern.now she wanted different dogs ,rings in the the dogs mouths a tells me why do I have her name in with her daughter's.God is funny to put mann an woman together with totally different way of seeing things ,thinking things and depicting things it doesn,t compute.i spent all day start to almost finish and when she added the third thing I backed out.

  14. I haven't finished all the pieces or did a final sanding and finish..but I am pretty happy with my progress

  15. That's funny. I do the same. I can't wait for them to start to get dull . . . then my cuts are MUCH MORE IMPROVED. It's like ... 2a.m. with a piece of wood. Or - the blade just gets better and better after last call !!! hahahahaha

  16. I have been in my shop some of the time since I returned to Arizona from Oregon.. I made a name plaque for my granddaughter from a Sam Custodio pattern but I forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to her and this little rose plaque from a Judy Gail Roberts pattern, I have had for sometime. I am currently working on another intarsia pattern that I will post when I get it finished. The outside temperature today is 108 degrees, beats the tornado on the Eastern side of the U.S.A. and all the fire and smoke on all the western states, right now. Dick heppnerguy

  17. Nice work Dick. For those interested in trying the Pegas blades (or those who need to restock ) our fellow forum member, Denny, sells the Pegas blades (and saws and new larger saw top). He offers great prices on the blades and shipping and ships very quickly. I have ordered from Denny and always been happy with the service and agree, the Pegas blades are good. You can find his store here: https://www.artcraftersonline.com/shop

  21. Thanks Kevin! I'm looking at this one: https://www.seyco.com/sdc-300-seyco-sanding-dust-collection-center/ Seyco said they could configure it with one of their standard sanding drums AND a gizmo I can use to attach my 1/4" shank 3M sanding disk. Thanks again for your reply. Brian

  22. Your project looks great.. I never had any issues with fuzzies once I switched to FD-UR blades way back when... also now using the Pegas MG blades and no fuzzies... BUT... still get them with spiral blades.. But also don't use spirals too often..

    How many Jasons

Pattern was given to me by a friend that wanted it cut. Signature looks like it says Morris but I'm not sure. Don't like posting picks without pattern recognition but couldn't find it any where online.

  38. Brian, This is what I have here... https://www.seyco.com/dv-10a-cyclonic-action-scroll-saw-dust-collector/ I also have another just about like it but it's a home built system using a MetroVac 5000 that I bought off eBay and a small plastic cyclone separator I got from Amazon.. Somewhere around here is a topic with links that I think Ray @octoolguy posted as I copied what he did basically...

  43. besides the dip .. did you use anything else? I thought a protective finish was needed on top.. Excuse my ignorance but finishing is the most confusing part for me...I might have some sort of mental block.

  44. Opps! Been long time cents I played a game of chess. Right on extra queen. I use mineral spirits & boiled linseed oil in a 50/50 mix.

  45. From were I set you did a bang up job! I just dipped mine in 50/50 mix. Getting a even coat on these won’t be easy. PS why the extra queen, planning on cheating? LOL

  46. This one is not real sporty, but it is different—everything except the axles. While making these toys, I discovered that it is easier and quicker for me to cut wheels on the scroll saw than using hole saws.

  47. I can only think of one thing I've cut that has wheels....or that I plan to cut that has wheels. But, I'm a military history nut, so I had to cut this Steve Good pattern:
