  1. I have loved this pattern ever since I first saw it and after Brenda posted hers, it jogged my memory and I finally got around to cutting it. Thank you, Brenda for your help with this one. I actually stack cut it and have one more to figure out what exactly I am going to do with that one. Might put it on my garage wall or give it to a family member or friend. who knows. I cut this on 1/4 inch BB Ply and used my 'go to' blade,(#3R MG Pegas) for all of it. Dick heppnerguy

    Old pickup

I decided to remake one of my fretwork pattern to multi-layered one, and here is what came out of it. If you find cutting advanced fretwork difficult - layered one is much easier and looks more interesting. Video of making Pickup project Pickup pattern

I recently asked for a pattern to be made for my daughter of her father in law who passed away recently, well I had 2 very nice patterns made for me, so I asked my daughter to choose and she chose the one by Jim Blume put I would also like to thank TDpainter for taking the time to also make a pattern I really appreciate it. This was cut in 3mm ply. Sorry about the shadow that covering part of the photo. I added the dates and the plane, he was a one eyed Bombers supporter. Marg

!/4" Russian Baltic Birch. 2/0 Pegas MG. No finish yet and needs a backer. I posted another photo in "General " category that shows splinters being lifted on it. This a Sam Custodio's pattern. He has a good sense of humor.

  8. My lady uses a local Chiropractor who is a real nice friendly guy. She has been showing off my projects to him and he wants me to use his watting room walls to display some of my work, which I plan to do. In between other projects I put together a pattern for this 5 1/2" X 21" Plaque to hang in his office. I used two layers of 1/4" thick Poplar. Backer layer painted Black. The small script font is Birds of Paridice Font from dafont.com. Scrollable by just adding a few bridges with Pegas 2/0 MGT blades. Did have a couple of repairable problems that you can see if you look close....on the wall from a few feet away it wont be noticeable. My bigest problem with this plaque was trying to cut toward the ends with the panel rotated directly at my stomach...my arms are really not long enought to see and control the cut. When rotated the other way the panel just cleared the saw but my light arm kept getting in the way. Gotta be more careful about the project size in the future . The second project is a slightly modified Russ Beard Eagle (#1) pattern downloaded from the laibrary. The modification was to eliminate the small frame as part of the pattern and added a little detail to the bottom to make the patten 11" X 14" friendly. Top panel is 1/8" BB Ply and the bottom layer is 1/4 Walnut solid Core plywood staind dark Walnut. Lacquer Finish. Pegas #2/0 and #0 Spiral balades The panel is set loose into a store bought frame from Hobby Lobby. I know, lots of Eagles! Kinda my thing...still have a bunch more eagle patterns waiting.

  10. I have so many projects to do, I spent about 4 hours in the shop today. I have an order for 30 angels (3 different styles) have to get ready for Christmas inventory and many more things that I would like to cut. I really don’t like cutting the same thing over and over again ( angels) but it was requested by a very good friend and just could not say no. To take a break I cut a toothpick holder just for fun. Enjoy.

  11. HI My Dad was asked to make a wooden box frame for a family member that has recently passed away. My dad asked me to make a frame for a photo to go in. I also gave him the idea of the fish which I did for him. Here is the result not completly finished. Will have led stripe light in when finished. The finished item will be going the wall of one of his daughters...

    Blue line flag

Finished and sent off -- I think it came out great! Completed size is 36 x 24 finished with Helmsman spar urethane (will be mounted on his house ). I'm having fun with these but my driveway looks like it snowed sorta -- lots of sawdust from grinding the shape. The final picture is the one I used for a pattern.

    #182

This is the 182nd cross I've done over time. Nice piece of oak for a pattern I really like. 183 and 184 are sitting on my saw half done. I have 92 on the walls in the garage and including in the ones in the house I have 119 all together. No idea what I'm gonna do with them all.

    Coffee until Wine

This type of sign making has become quite popular lately. Things sort of do that from time to time. I have also been considering making a sign in this manner but have not gotten around to doing it yet. Very nice sign, I can nothing in the suggestion line of thought, accept it is time to give another one a start. Dick heppnerguy

  29. Looks like a Baritone Horn. Grandad on dad's side played TWO of them AT ONCE! Dad was third generation musical Vaudeville. Great grandpa played Two trombones at once sitting in a chair working the slides with his feet. Grandpa played two baritone horns at once,( and a ton of other instruments), even played them during a TV interview on his 99th birthday. Dad's favorite was a trumpet, he even played with the great Bob Wills at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. That is a cool Baritone! Wonder how many years it took to make it...LOL

Your "friend" is definately on the dark side...he will realy like this cut. You did a great job. I'm with your wife on the frame! Just me, but I'm not into the burnt finish Might have been better if just distressed.

  32. J/K, well kinda.... Wife and I did a project together today getting ready for our first event in a few weeks. We made an Iggy special display rack Still needs a finishing job and a bit more sanding but came out fine. Made from scraps around the shop including: Pallet wood, wood trellis' for the cross members and some old 1/2" ply laying around. Had enough to make 2 but stopped at the one for now. Thanks always in advance for reading
