    Pontiac Star Chief

The 1955 Pontiac Star Chief was produced for 1954 to 1957. It had a V-8 287HP 4.7 L engine and came in a 2-door coupe and 4 door model. It had several distinctive features, 2 broad chrome bands that ran up the hood and a hood ornament with an Indian head that would illuminate when the headlights were turned on. It was also recognized by the 3-star emblems that ran along the side of the body. The Star Chief was the precursor to the Bonneville though the Chief name was associated with later models also. I had to go big on this plaque because of the size of the text. I used Good-Times font that is very similar to the Pontiac font. The dimensions are 18” x 12” on BBPW and a 1/4” backer.

I saw this picture on the internet and loved it, so I put it through Inkscape and came up with this. Done purely because I liked it and I needed to get out of the house. I have 10 pups, 6 adult dogs, 2 cats a pond full of enormous fish and now a 'wounded' husband that all seem to think I have 4 pairs of hands.

All females have 4 hands when they need them but it's wise not to let on to family members. Great work once again, both on the pattern and the cutting. Do yourself a favour, stay out there as long as possible. Marg

    Twitter login??????

I use Opera. I haven't tried logging in with either Chrome or Firefox. I think it was JimErn who put me onto Opera and I really like it. This is a problem that has just cropped up over the last few days. Now that I've deleted my Twitter account, we'll see what happens. I am also going to dump my "cookies". Why does that sound strange. I don't drink so I haven't tossed my cookies in years. Oh well..........

    Which table saw?

Agree - if you have a problem with it , the machine is not trashed , you can find used motors - or upgrade its power - i really like my older US made Delta contractors saw - being a former woodshop teacher , i know all about the unisaw -this is a close 2nd ( almost ) Ive cut big stuff like plywood 4' x 8' - with a little help -it does it fine - basically the same size table as the unisaw . No regrets -could of bought alot worse ---

    Twitter login??????

Ray, Just curious.. not sure what browser you use.. but have you tried a different browser to see if the same thing happens? I'm wondering if this is some sort of setting that has been changed or something.. I always stay logged in but I went to Microsoft Edge and tried logging in.. I didn't get this type of login screen.. I did have a option to login via FB / Twitter or just manually but I didn't get that annoying screen.. I keep a few different browsers on my PC so I can see how my website looks on different browsers.. I normally use Chrome but have Firefox and Edge too.. sometimes each browser will act or look different from each other..

    Which table saw?

The Delta Contractor saw, sold at Lowes, is an excellent saw. However; the Rigid, sold at HD, is just as good and come with a lifetime parts & service guarantee. Personally, I use and recommend Sawstop, and not just for the safety reasons. My contractor saw, out of the box, had the table to blade measurement at 5 thousandths of an inch. After three years use, it has actually gotten better - 4 thousandths. Having said that, add another $900 to the cost of the saw for the safety braking system. But weigh that against Emergency Room charges.

  33. Lawson and Charlie - not sure if you have seen or heard this yet but I have some bad news. I just saw it in a newspaper article. It seems that the Charlie Brown specials will NOT be on network television this year. According to what I read, they will only be available on the Apple TV+ online Service! Can’t believe they would do that. So sad. The article says “began streaming Monday for the digital platform's subscribers. It will be streamed free Oct. 30-Nov. 1.” so it seems non-subscribers can stream it “free” on those limited dates (same for the Thanksgiving and Christmas specials later in the year, limited dates for “free).” But stIll, not everyone has online access for streaming video or good service for streaming. It does also show up on Amazon Prime Video as available there too at this moment. Although the article(s) I read said it was “exclusive” to Apple TV+ So that might be changing, “A rep for Apple TV+ confirmed to USA Today that the "Charlie Brown" holiday specials — including "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” — are now exclusive to the streaming site (where they'll be available to stream this year for free during brief windows).” Here’s link to one article (but found several in my attempt to verify it was true before sharing): https://www.forbes.com/sites/tonifitzgerald/2020/10/21/why-you-cant-watch-its-the-great-pumpkin-charlie-brown-on-abc-this-year/#54e4613a5fb5 And also here https://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/television/2020/10/20/its-great-pumpkin-charlie-brown-on-tv-cbs-apple-tv-plus/5992933002/

    Stag.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Husband was stood on the very, very top handle of ladders trying to get into the loft and the ladders snapped. As he had his 'elbows' already through the hatch he didn't fall but he tore the muscles and tendons in his shoulder. They reckon anywhere between 3 + 8 months for recovery depending on how bad the tear is. He's right handed and that's the one he tore and believe me, I know from past experience, he doesn't make the best of patients. He's never had 'Slow Down' in his vocabulary.
