  1. Another H.Botas pattern that tickled my funnybone. 3/4" whiteboard, several Pegas #3MG blades. Lot more holes than I thought there would be at first glance, but it was a fun cut nonetheless.

  3. "My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." One of my favorite movies, and quotes. Done on 1/4" Walnut.

So total after Paying back the Booth Fee I made a Grant total of $483.00. YeePeeYea.... :+} Was a little lower than the Normal from years gone by, but I am Always Thankful and we Always enjoy our time dealing with the Customers. ............... I forgot to snap pictures BEFORE THINGS GOT UNDER WAY and only remembered in the Afternoon. Its against Policy to take any Pictures during the show times. So I noticed a gal snapping pics of our table and asked Politely if she would snap some pis and Email them to me. She Happily said she would. Here are some of Her pics. Not excited about the Clarity, but will have to do. By the time I asked her I had pretty well sold Lots.... Thanks for being here....Danny :+}

  10. Hello my name is Michael, I live in the western North Carolina area. I started scrolling when me and my wife was dating. She saw a picture with the plans for a nativity set she ask if I could do something like that. As a young man trying to impress my girlfriend I told yes I could cut it out. So I went to Lowes home improvement warehouse and bought my first ever scroll saw it was a Dremel with variable speeds. Then I upgraded my scroll saw after I got married, I got a Dewalt DW 788 I have used it for over twenty years and it still works fine without any issues. However, I just upgraded from the DW788. I have been scrolling for about twenty-three years. However, I am new to wood lathe turning I like it, however I love my scrolling.

  12. I purchased Lou, my Paint Mare, in 2006 at the age 6 or 7 - previous owner was unsure of her age. For the first year we had some rough times as she was barely green broke but soon we had some wonderful rides together. When my eldest daughter and her family came into my life in 2008, she too developed a great relationship with my horse but experienced her own issues (bulging lower disc in the back after a fall from Lou) with her. When we left Colorado for Ohio in 2012, Lou stayed behind until we could get into a better financial position and finally joined us here in 2017. Unfortunately, we learned that she had developed Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Cancer) in her left eyelid which is a common problem with Paint horses that have bald faces like mine. I wasn't able to afford the surgery at Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital so we decided to try other medications that ultimately did not help matters. After some aggravating and heart-wrenching thought and discussion, I decided that Lou would be euthanized and so Monday, yesterday, she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge onto greener pastures. With much thanks to Grampa for his efforts, I made this memorial for my eldest so she could keep something of Lou (I have my halter and saddle). The picture is of my eldest's last rodeo with Lou this past August while the horsehair is a lock of Lou's mane. Charmayne Picture of Lou by Scott Baker, on Flickr I'll give the frame to my eldest when she comes back out this next weekend as I didn't put the last pieces on until tonight.

  13. Anyone considered the battery powered route. I don't mind putting money into portable power tools. I've seen articles on table saw, miter saws that are battery powered. I'm hesitant on battery powered stationary tools. Larger investment, but if the battery can't be found in later years, its a large paper weight with a blade. Seen lawn equipment, snow equipment go the route of battery power. Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, snow throwers. Grew up yanking on a cord to start a gas engine, ran forever. Just not sure the investment will last more than a year or two. RJF

  14. In my school shop I have a 12" Dewalt. Come to think of it I have had the same one in all of my school shops. 1 had a stand, 2 had shop built tables, and the current one sits where ever I clamp it. I am planning on getting rid of an old radial arm saw and building a miter saw table in the spot. The saws have all preformed really well. At home I have a cheap 10" (tool shop, I think) It has noticeably less power, I compensate by keeping really sharp/new blades in it. If I combine the price of the saw and all of the blades I probably could have gotten a better one.

  16. It has taken a few days to get back to cutting again after installing my Dust Collector (DC) System. I have been working on a few projects at the same time, one being a sculptured piece that required removal of material with a Router. Using a router sled to lower areas on the project, my hand held trim router produced a tremendous amount of cutting materials. This material would have filled up my small shop vacuum quickly. Using the DC pull around hose, the cutting material was easily and quickly picked up. I also had the need to do a little sanding on my table mounted combination disk/belt sander. With the DC operating the sanding dust was collected and no noticeable amount disbursed into the air. In preparation of another project I used my table saw to cut panels and with the DC system attached and turned on, the saw dust was collected and there was hardly any material disbursed into the shop. The little saw dust that comes off the top of the saw was again easily picked up with the pull around hose. Then yesterday morning I spent over 3 hours at the scroll saw. I let the DC run continuously while cutting. My dust collector box under the table worked like a charm. Most of the generated saw dust and small pieces that would normally drop to the floor or onto my apron and shoes, was almost collected one hundred percent. I simply picked up, and tossed into the collection box, the small cutout pieces the popped up out of the cutting. Only a few got away and landed on the floor. Large cut out pieces were simply grabbed and pitched directly into the trash can. Since I did not add a top of the table collection hose to the system, I did get a little saw dust on top of the work and table but this is very insignificant and again easily cleaned up after cutting with the pull around hose. Previously, the floor of my shop would be littered with cut out pieces and saw dust for a few days until a project cut was completed and I stopped to actually clean up. Yesterday, it took less than a minute to clean up the floor around the scroll saw to pick up the few pieces that got away and the minimal amount of sawdust that dropped to the floor. I can see that a few minutes of dusting the shop walls, shelves, stored materials, etc., now and then, will keep the shop a lot cleaner than it has been in the past. Just a little FYI. The temps are cool these days and I have a small heater to warm up the shop. While cutting yesterday with the heater on, it started to get too warm so I shut the heater off. The DC system pulls a lot of air out of the shop and it immediately began to noticeably cool the shop down. This is a problem I will easily live with. Hope my DC install post and this followup was helpful.

  17. Happy to hear your DC is working so well. Keeping the air cleaner is keeping your lungs cleaner. Giving you a clean safer and more healthy place to enjoy your wood working.

  18. I got the Ryobi 10” slider saw and like it a lot. I also have a Ridgid 10” slider with the mount but it is in the garage and I used it on big job,like decks making and heavier job. The Ryobi is in my shop in the basement.

  19. I replaced my Dewalt 12” miter saw with a Dewalt 12” sliding miter saw. The saw came with a “washer?” type thing adapter because the arbor is a different size. Just so you know.

  22. I got the Metabo 10" for Christmas on sale for $229. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchTerm=metabo miter saw It usually sells for $399, but they made a mistake on the web site and honored it when I called. Only had it a month or so, but love it! Dual bevels and up to 60 deg cut on the right.

  23. I gave my 10" rigid miter saw to my son. I have a 45 year old Dewalt radial arm saw for doing cutoffs. I have had it for over thirty years at it still works great. I can cut a board close to 16" . I have room for it, it's placed between the garage doors. I planed it that way when I had the garage built.

  41. I was eyeing that last night and was kind of thinking about pulling the trigger on it, I'm torn kind of between that one and this one from HD.. Since I kind of like to have the stand too.. the HD one actually a little lower priced I think.. buy the time I also buy a stand. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-15-Amp-10-in-Sliding-Compound-Miter-Saw-and-Universal-Miter-Saw-QUICKSTAND-TSS103-A18MS01G/313307258 Edit: actually no the HF one is $10 cheaper with a coupon I have for $15 off the stand.. If I wait for the big 25% coupon then it'd be quite a bit cheaper maybe.. Off subject sort of but do you happen to use the "Honey" extension for automatic coupon codes when shopping online? Many times people will put in their coupon codes and it picks up coupons that get used.. and will give you the best price on things.. Sometimes it doesn't find a working coupon.. but many times if I shop online it'll pull a 25% off coupon code and I don't have to wait for one in the mail or email etc.. That's how I got the coupon for the stand..

  43. You know Kevin, I know you have a ton of money but I'd give this saw a look and watch the video. For $220 without a coupon, this saw looks great. I think I might just have to have one. As soon as they send me another coupon, it'll be mine. https://www.harborfreight.com/10-in-dual-bevel-sliding-compound-miter-saw-57179.html?_br_psugg_q=sliding+miter+saw
