And it works! You can turn it in a complete circle over and over and . . . Saw this on Steve Good's website and it grabbed me right away. What should have been a one day project turned into 3 - Murphy's Law paid me a visit with the tension knob not tightening. It's doing its job now, but I need to order a new one. The underside where the tension rod is - well, the indentations that the tension rod sleeve catches on were just about worn smooth. I noticed if I apply downward pressure while applying tension, it will tighten up just fine. If I just move the tension knob horizontally, it doesn't take up the tension like it is supposed to. Anyway, I had a happy ending once I got that sorted out. Thinking of staining/painting the support and base a darker color and just doing a clear coat on the shells.

  2. The yoga girl gave me this piece and as soon as I seen it I knew exactly what I was going go use it for MARANATHA.i had to print the pattern backwards on thee donated by kmmcrafts flat side. Used a #7 pegas prst from Lesley's patterns. WWWScrollsawbladespatterns.com. The wood limb was 3/4" thick.Blades were donated by Kmmcrafts. Thank you Kevin!!!

    Hum-ah Hum-ah!

With a title like that, how could you resist looking?! I'm buried in Steve Good patterns and cutting my way out. Anyway, we have a friend who loves hummingbirds, so I made this for her. 3/4 inch pine (called for 1/2 inch but I didn't have any on hand) using #5ST Pegas blades. Now to ponder a backing color. And thanks to all of you in the Village for being here and sharing your knowledge. It has helped me greatly.

    Puzzle Pets

Just want to share what I have been up to a lot lately. I bought a bunch of Sue Mey's puzzle patterns, and have been making them for clients including the Pets name. They are selling real well

    My Hegner setup

I don't remember if I ever shared this with everyone, so I'll do it now. I scroll sitting down so I made a super heavy stand. Air quality is huge for me as I work in my basement. I invested in a small Delta dust collector and have it hooked up to may sanders, chop saw, and router table. I have the 4" line from the dust collector split in two, one hose for the under side and one for the top side. The under side is "connected" to a catch box made from 1/4" BB, the top side is attached to a re-purposed arm for a desk lamp. Works for me. The Hegner airline is setup how I got it from a friend.

  8. Got it together! Man...that thing is huge compared to my Kobalt jobsite saw! It looks like an aircraft carrier. I checked the electrical panel, and I already have a couple of 20amp circuits ready. Tomorrow I may check the adjustments and fire it up!

  11. Yesterday I had a few minutes to get it out of the box and on it's feet...with the help of my shop assistant who was holding down the instructions LOL. Maybe I can make more progress today.

  14. Lately, my Delta has been "knocking" intermittently. It sounded like it was coming from the bottom hold but couldn't be sure. Today I was cutting a larger than normal piece and the knocking got more intense so I stopped. I took apart the machine, trying to remember what I did last time I took it apart. Got it all down except for the top electrical switches. Moved the parts around, up/down and could not figure out where the sound was coming from. So, I put it back together hoping I would not have left over pieces like last time. Turned it on, leveled and started to cut a piece and no more sound The top arm is much stiffer than it was, so not sure if that could have been the problem. Perhaps the screws etc. just needed tightening? I have no idea what I did, but it seems to have stopped the "knocking" and worked. Just thought I'd share in case someone else with this saw experienced something similar.

  15. I found it here! Looks solid and just what I need. I'll do some measurements so I get the height dialed in nicely.

  16. Yeah this is kind what I'm thinking. Making it rolling is a great idea. Good find!

  19. Howdy! I'm considering building a stand for my Dewalt scroll saw this weekend that will work well with a regular height chair. I have the factory stand that works well for standing and bar height chairs, but doesn't lower enough for a regular chair. I'm looking to set up a small scroll saw area in my john deere room and I'd prefer to use my office size chair. My biggest concern is it being sturdy/heavy enough to not create any issues with vibration. I'd love to see/hear if anyone has built something like this or maybe a link to plans they'd recommend?

    Woven Basket

Another Steve Good pattern (he is so good to us scrollers), although he suggests 1/2" timber for the basket, I used 1 1/4" Mahogany as I have lots at hand, the top and bottom are as Steve suggests 1/4" again Mahogany, this has come out at 5" tall 5 3/4 long and 4 1/2 deep ( I did enlarge the pattern slightly), not sure what it will used for yet, but I'm sure something will come to mind

  21. Well things are looking up. I picked up my new Delta 36-725T2 late yesterday. They loaded it with a forklift, and I managed to get it out of the pickup onto the shop floor without killing myself! I opened the box, took as much out as I could, and slid the rest down a set of ramps I still have. Tomorrow I'll work on putting it together as it's forecast to be above freezing.

  22. Can you adjust/cut the original stand legs to lower them....?
    1 point
  23. I recently made a 3-legged stand using a 4x4 and 2x4s. It turned out solid and I installed retractable casters which makes it easy to move around. Got the casters from Amazon for about approx. $35 for a set of four. Found the plans online. Good luck.

Hi Frank, I probably should have posted that part of the entry in another message - maybe Q&A. I did adjust the set screws this morning and last evening ordered a new tension knob and clamps. Fingers crossed for a normal delivery time for parts.

I like very much. Should be a great conversation piece. Boy am I dumb...brain fart! Read your post over and over. Could not figure where a tensioning piece was on the cutting. Light bulb finally lit up after rereading again and realized you were talking about your saw, dahhh.
