  1. I cut a new friend this motorcycle, as he is a rider and has a nice bike. I hadn't really seen it in person when I choose this one to cut for him and it was not like the one he owns. I told him I would look for another one that matched his bike better and that he did not have to take this one if he really didn't want it. He was more than delighted with this one and I was able to find another pattern that matched his bike almost to a tee. I finished it this week and he was so pleased and happy to have it. I forgot to take a photo of it but next week when I get back home from Oregon I will have him send me a photo of it and I will post it too. Dick heppnerguy

I hate getting old. I cant remember who made this first but they so inspired me I had to cut it also for my oldest son and newest Harley owner. It’s a botas pattern. I want to thank him and all the pattern the pattern designers out there for all y’all do for us afflicted with this horrible thing know as scrolling

  3. By easy I mean it's not one that'll take a few days to cut, but you'll need to because with some cuts, pieces easy to break off.

  4. I have four projects in progress right now, and I work on which ever one fits my mood of the day. Just having fun and doing nothing serious... Here is the one I have been working on today. It is a modification of an @alexfox pattern... Layered bird house pattern for a wall hanging,,, I thought it would make a cute real bird house.... This is my progress so far... The front of the bird house is Alex's pattern them I just have been building the house and this will be the front... I'm having a great time with it... I have to paint it now them glue the front together and attach it to the little house..

Another pattern converted from a ZM Creations Illustration. Cut panel is 5/32” x 9” x 10 1/2” Maple solid core plywood affixed to a 1/4” x 11” x 12 1/2” backer. The backer panel border was painted with rattle can Krylon Fusion All-In-One Matt Fire Red, just to be different, and the areas under the pattern colored with Acrylic Art Paints, somewhat following the original illustration. As usual, I protected the panel with multiple coats of clear gloss spray Lacquer. This was a very quick cut using just one Pegas #1 MGT R Blade…amazing since I hardly ever get to use just one blade on a project, I break a lot. And, once again, a simple 1 3/4” wide Poplar frame that I applied a coat of pre-stain conditioner followed by a coat of Minwax Classic Grey and protected with coat of satin Wipe-On-Poly. In the pic the joints seem to be very pronounced but when viewing live they are not very noticeable. The lights seem to make them stand out in this color. Here is the original Illustration: For those who love to cut Eagles, here is the pattern Eagle - ZM Creations.pdf

    Thanks Travis

A few weeks ago @Travis added a project workshop feature to the site that has directions to go along with a project. I liked his love sign and shared it with my high school kids. Three of the kids decided to make a version, of course being kids only one used the word love. Another student was playing around and made a compound cut puzzle. I had never shown him any compound cutting, he just was experimenting. I am excited to see what else these kids make.

  10. Yes, spirals! 2/0 and 0. I haven't mastered straight blades, at all.

  11. I lived in Florida for 8 years in the new Port Richey area. I did enjoy my time there, but eventually moved back north. Those summer temps of 95 daily and rain every day, plus the 95 percent humidity finally did me in. They were just too brutal for me. However, I did enjoy the Gulf fishing for Grouper and Red Snapper. The winters were very nice too.

  16. After seeing the post from Joe W. titled Nautilus Gear, I just had to make one. A quick - just for fun - project with every part made from Walnut and Pine scrap. Pegas #1 MGT R blade. And like Joe said "You can turn it in a complete circle over and over and . . . " Finished with spray Lacquer...it was fun trying to coat everything and not having it stick the moving parts to the stand . Sorry about the clinging dust in the pics.

  17. Here is what started out as one of Steve's patterns from a few years ago. I changed the words on the lower half. Cut from 3/4" Red Oak using #5 Pegas MGT blades.

    Dust collector

Improved the dust collector. I added a Winn Environmental air filter that replaced the bag on top of the DC. Even better filtering, and a huge increase in suction. I was pleasantly surprised at the increase in air flow to my machines.

  24. If you do cut it, make sure you use the specified drill size for the holes in the gears. Mine were too big and everything was sloppy and would not work correctly. I cheated and built up the dowels with tape to fill the gap so it would work. If you do not have the correct bit it would be better to use a 1/4" bit and open them up a tad by sanding/filing til the gears turn smoothly.

  25. Very nice pattern and the cutting is very well done. Frank, you could hang it in Florida so when the weather is too hot it'll make you think cool.

  28. Beautifuly cut. Would be very nice to hang in a lodge or the like up north. But looking at it now, all I see is snow, and the reason I moved South to Florida.

  30. Well things are looking up. I picked up my new Delta 36-725T2 late yesterday. They loaded it with a forklift, and I managed to get it out of the pickup onto the shop floor without killing myself! I opened the box, took as much out as I could, and slid the rest down a set of ramps I still have. Tomorrow I'll work on putting it together as it's forecast to be above freezing.

  33. very nice job and a great idea with the bird house

  34. Very nice work with those bird houses. I've two plain old bird houses on the front of my house and I've had 2 broods of Coal Tits a year {about 7 to 9 eggs each time} for many years. Coal Tits will not use a nest box with a perch on the front, other breeds wont use a nest box unless there is a perch so adjust the box to try and attract the audience your interested in. My second bird house does not get a resident each year because the Coal Tits get territorial after they move in and chase off anyone who looks like they might move into the neighborhood, and its ten times worse if that new interloper is another Coal Tit. Its only used by occasional visitors who need an escape from bad weather for the night.

  37. That looks great Paul and a great idea! How big is the hole? It might make a good clock if the hole can be adjusted to 1 3/8” to fit a clock fit up.

  39. Thanks for a great idea Paul. I've been thinking about making a couple of bird house/feeders. That is really nice. What did you have to shell out for the pattern?

  42. Got it together! Man...that thing is huge compared to my Kobalt jobsite saw! It looks like an aircraft carrier. I checked the electrical panel, and I already have a couple of 20amp circuits ready. Tomorrow I may check the adjustments and fire it up!

  43. Yesterday I had a few minutes to get it out of the box and on it's feet...with the help of my shop assistant who was holding down the instructions LOL. Maybe I can make more progress today.

    Dust collector

I can see sealing it up as much as possible to reduce noise, but is there a point where you need to be concerned with airflow and heat build up?

    Dust collector

Jim you could line the closet you built with foam insulation. You can buy it at home centers. In two of my houses I have insulated my garage doors with this insulation and it works good. It would also work for sound. I just marked it out with a magic marker and cut it with a razor knife and stuck it on with construction glue. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Expanded-Polystyrene-Foam-Board-Insulation-Common-1-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-937-in-x-3-875-ft-x-7-875-ft/3365576

    Dust collector

sounds like you are tackling things head on. I put a dust collector in my shop over a year ago and I have yet to use it. so you are way ahead of me. I have my shop in an outbuilding and my nearest neighbor is almost a mile away so noise is not a problem for me.. Dick heppnerguy
