Sheila Landry design. Cut from 1/4" cherry

This was pretty fun. I made this for a group of ladies that meet regularly and call themselves "Between Sisters" I just LOVE working with cedar.

OK, it is outside the box, used a vase pattern from Steve Good, and installed a Bluetooth speaker during the build. Inlaid the two birds. Used heart wood and aspen. The peacock feathers came from my fly tying bench. It has surprisingly good sound quality, the hardest part was figuring out the baffle over the speaker. Onward through the fog!

I cut this H. Botus pattern just because I liked it. I am placing it up for sale in our area to see if anyone else likes it as much as I do. I had it enlarged and I am using some scrap cedar to try and learn a little bit about making my own frames as I think they add a more finished look and really do not cost anything extra, at least right now. This on did not come out perfect but good enough so one gets the idea. I am thinking about maybe making a couple for my horse family girls. I will wait and see how their reactions are to them first. I kind of been needing a new miter saw, not that the one I have is bad, I just needed a sliding miter saw for those wide boards I glue up for making signs on my CNC.. Cutting one side and flipping the board over to get the other half has been getting old, LOL. SO I got the DeWalt 12" slider miter saw. Since my current saw is a 10" I also bought a nice Freud 12" blade for it and since I also have my current saw mounted on a regular cheap HF general tool stand ( not even a miter saw stand ) I bought the nice DeWalt rolling stand. I also bought a laser attachment to go on my CNC.. been wanting to try the laser and Nextwave had some refurbished ones on sale so I snagged up one of those.. Then I bought some upgrades for my K-40 laser. I bought a adjustable focal lens, new mirrors and a laser alignment tool. Next up, I need a new table saw.. had it in my cart the last week or so with my miter saw trying to decide if these was the tools I wanted and during that time the table saw sold out.. so I missed out on that one.. better luck next time I guess. Probably a good thing it was sold out as I have no idea where I'm going to put the new tools at. I have my shop crammed full because I have my daughters Jeep in there doing a engine rebuild so I have parts laid out everywhere. Just got the stuff back from the machine shop and my parts order came in today.. hopefully can get it back together and out of the shop next week. Maybe having new tools will motivate me to get the Jeep finished up so I can get it out of my way, been apart now for about 6 weeks.. partly machine shops fault as they was 5 weeks out, LOL couldn't order my parts until I knew how much over / under size they was going to create, LOL I had been watching FB marketplace and CL for quite some time waiting on a deal.. got tired of fooling with overpriced used junk and decided I've waited nearly a year and I guess no good deals in my area so NEW it is. Now I'll have a used one to sell, LOL..

I got this free pattern from Google. Didn't quite work out the way it did in my head but still quite happy with it and so was the girl that I gave it too. Cut from half inch pine. Marg

I came across mention of a scam website - dwltset - purportedly selling DeWalt tools at a ridiculous discount. There was mention of them charging your credit card and then spoofing a delivery # and spoofing an actual delivery (neither of which are real) to put off investigation by the credit card company. Stay away from this site.

I have a couple days off.....so I made this sunflower for my garage today ....made from 3/4” scrap plywood.....2ft in diameter....comments appreciated

yep it is flower season. I bet if you glue sunflower seeds in the middle, it could qualify for last months challenge. Then you can keep your hose handy for the sidewalk cleaning.

First thing I do when I want to do one of his plans it take it to a copy place, OfficeMax, UPS store, something like that and get several copies made.... They come on A4 size paper, or some size not typical for most home printers in the U.S.. The plans are very go. I started his Cremona Wall Clock sometime ago, then got side tracked... Need to get back to it, got most the fretwork complete. What ever you get completed.... send Pedro a picture... we need more items posted from the USA...

enjoy your new tools, I just got the Supermax sander a few months ago and love it.

I was wondering if you had considered the Harbor Freight saw. It would be my first choice if I needed to replace my saw. I have a 12-inch Hitachi that I purchased several years ago for a project where I had to cut many landscape timbers and 4x4s. Thinking I would sell it when the project was done, I liked the sliding saw so much I kept it.

I've ordered from Pedro before as well, and shipping to IL was a couple weeks if I remember correctly. He has some excellent patterns.

Congrats Kevin. New toys are always a fun thing. I'm going to buy a sliding miter saw too but I'm going smaller. I've been reading a lot about the 10" one that H/F has and the price is in my range. I'll have a 12" Dewalt compound miter saw for sale to cover some of the cost. I've been wanting one for a while and the 12" is just to big and heavy for me. If I had the space, I'd put it on a rolling stand but the table saw is the only rolling tool I have room for. Maybe after I get done enclosing my driveway I'll have a bit more space. Anyway, I can't wait to hear all about your new stuff.

First of all thank you very much for the advice and anyway after I read your email I remembered that I have a Pegas blade pack and then I checked what you told me and clearly I immediately understood what you told me, like I said It wasn’t easy for me to understand the possible orientation I usually use FD UR # 3 or 5 and work with 3/4 thick pine, unfortunately I don't have much time to devote to this hobby and even if I don't participate much in the forum I am always amazed at what you guys are capable of doing. Just a simple daisy for my yard....2ft in diameter.....sunset yellow/white......I plan on making a few more colors......from scrap 3/4" plywood I had.....comments welcome

It took a little longer than I thought it would, but I really enjoyed cutting it, I would say about 2hrs cutting it, I really didn't time my self.

Well done! I wonder why the sudden popularity of gnomes. I've made two myself and plan the make more. Is the recent popularity only here at Scrollsaw Village and at Steve Good's site or is it more widespread?

In the Catholic church they perform baptisms on your children and babies. I have a great grandson that is getting baptized on my birthday, in Los Angeles. Several of our family members are going there for the event, including us. I wanted to find a plaque commemorating this event in James' life and looked to Sue Mey to see what she had to offer. I came up with this one and decided to also make this cross for his parents as well. I have not posted anything for some time, although I have made many things in my shop lately.
