This is another free downloadable stencil I found and converted to a scroll saw pattern having only 31 holes. The pattern was sized to fit a 9” x 17” cut panel. The cut panel is 5/32” Solid Core Birch Ply (not BB Ply), cut using Pegas #2/0 Spiral Blades. The backer is 1/4” x 11” x 19” Solid Core Mahogany. The backer is hand painted under the cut area using Acrylic Artist Paints. The cut panel also has some areas hand painted with the contrasting light Pink Acrylic Paints. The panel was protected with multiple coats of Deft Clear Gloss Spray Lacquer. The stencil was in B&W but I was able to find many similar images of the Pink Panther that showed me the colors to use in this presentation. The Frame is 1 3/4” wide Poplar that was stained with Minwax Natural stain and then coated with two coats of Minwax Clear Gloss Wipe-On Poly. Decided to leave it Natural since the grain in this piece of Poplar was very nice, without the typical dark greenish coloration often found in Poplar. Was able to get this completed in only two days before having my knee surgery tomorrow (7/29). Comment and critique is always welcome and appreciated. I'm thinking this piece will be part of a wimsicle series, along with my previous "Cockerel", if I find some more to do.5 points

1938 Horch 853
MTCowpoke22 and 2 others reacted to munzieb for a topic
Horch (1899-1939) August Horch was the manager of Karl Benz's factory between 1896 and 1899, when he decided to set up his own car manufacturing business. His first car was built in 1901 but things were tough and by 1909 Horch was squeezed out of his own company by its board of directors. He retaliated by setting up a new company called Audi, which would join the Auto Union alongside Horch in 1932. Horch would continue to produce cars under its own name until 1939, but after the war the company's Zwickau factory was in East Germany so it was turned over to truck production under the Soviets. As part of the Auto Union group, the dormant Horch brand is now owned by Volkswagen. The Horch was at the Concors D’Elegance at Pebble Beach and won best in show and was recently sold in auction for 6+ million. 1938 Horch 853 | conceptcarz.com In the original design, I did do the very narrow grill but because of the size (EX-16) I couldn't cut the individual pieces of the grill and started to wander. I could have done it with a larger SS.3 points -

Beautiful box Dave!! Love the inlay!! You could have just sent it to me...LOL2 points -
Well I guess you just need the practice of makeing new side and end walls. If the second attempt is a nice as the first, it is a beautiful piece and great cutting. Those though mortisis are clean and neat. Great work.2 points

You can always say you planned it that way! Regardless, great work. Love the inlay.2 points

Just have that side facing the wall. It's how I fix that particular problem when I have it. Tom2 points -
Interesting - this (price difference) has happened to me twice in the past couple months, also at Lowes. They made it right, but now I'm looking closer at everything I buy there and elsewhere.2 points

Just some stuff..

So I am going to try to get an Etsy store going, basically because I don't have the room to keep everything I make. I started taking some pics this evening, but I really don't like the pics. I need to come up with a better way to stage the items for Etsy.. but here are some things I cut prob back in 2011-2012, and they have been sitting in a 6qt sterilite tub since then.. The bigger wall pieces are Cherry and Ash. The box is cherry. The smaller Christmas ornaments are cherry and maple, and the feathers are red oak and ash glued together.. Ornaments and feathers are 1/8" and were stack cut so there are even more still in the box. The feathers are stack cut in two's so that when you cut across the part where the wood changes, they match up and can be glued together. I believe all of these are Sheila Landry designs... as usual for me. LOL1 point -
Hello All, I've been scrolling now for about three months. I find it to be very relaxing and quite pleasing to complete the various projects. I'm a retired law enforcement officer but continue to work for a farm manufacturing company that distributes worldwide. I live in a very rural area with my wife, dogs, cats and various wildlife that visit my property. We did have horses when we first moved here but they have passed on and we decided at our ages not to get any more. I say all this because you'll notice most of my projects are animal related. I look forward to learning from the experience of the members of this forum. God bless and keep scrolling!1 point

60 days! Took me two weeks of calling to get through to be put on the list. I was put on the list 3 years ago and keep calling every 6 months to get put on the “list” again. I gave up for a year and got a bad taste in my mouth. Trying it one last time. There is a new office gal and she said I will definitely receive my saw this time. The G4 seems really high quality. I should have bought one when they first came out. I have some big stuff coming up to build and I need to get my feet planted and get it done.1 point -

where did you find info on the larger table? I have a 30” that needs a new table and if i can get more blade room in the front and sides I would love to do so.1 point -

Very nice Frank! Clean cutting for sure, but the coloration and presentation make it stand out! I have tried spiral blades but have not had any success with them. Best wishes for your knee surgery. Does the pink panther have any connection to knees? Thurman1 point

We have sawmills in the area, going full steam with construction grade spruce, quality lumber gets shipped out of the country, the rest goes to British Columbia and none to our local lumber yards here as our Rona and Pineland get their supply from British Columbia. I wonder what is with that!1 point -

But it could be up for trade for a shiny new pegas with a stand and assortment of a few gross blades of your choice? Lol I can pick it up on my way to Maine. Thanks for the help Rolf. Appreciate it very much.1 point -
I answered your PM. I do have and love my G4, I did however change the upper clamp to the Delta quick clamp. that mod is no longer available. The saw has served me well since May 2005. pretty much paid for the rest of the tools in my shop. I have had only very minor maintenance issues in the 16 years of ownership. This is sacrilege for me to say, but if I were in the market for a new saw it would be a Pegas. The added feature of the table staying flat and the arms tilting has swayed me in that direction. Also the Pegas blade clamps are far superior to the other saws in this style of saw. I know that is not what you asked for nor do I want to start a saw battle as most of us really think our saws are the best. And no it is not for sale.1 point

Actually the handle is from the first truck I purchased new. A Dodge Dakota with a 5.2 liter engine. I created it as a log in for a work computer and I had to use various keys. That's why the "o" is actually a zero. My trips west of the Carolina's has been limited to TN except a summer job in TX and a trip to CO in 1993 to compete in the World Police and Fire Olympics.
