  1. This is the first project I have completed in my new enlarged shop. Also the first project that I only used spiral blades. Took me 3 to be exact.

  2. The Coffee sign, is 1/4" Ash with a ply backer painted a brown color. It's about 8x10 inches. Cut with Olson #2/0R blades. The Chocolate sign is about 10x12 inches and is 1/4" thick Hickory with a ply backer painted brown also. It is also cut with Olson #2/0R blades. Both are Sheila Landry Design patterns.

  5. I finished the special request Dream Catcher Rose. The rose is made from Purpleheart. The dream catcher is made from Ash and the feathers are made from Maple and Walnut. The design is by Sue Mey and modified with the rose. Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using several types of Pegas blades. The finish is MinWax Lacquer Clear Satin.

    A Bunch Of Red Roses

I have been off the scroll saw for approx 12 months with illness & other things. This is my first project since back, Boy was i rusty, it was like learning all over again but i eventually got back into the swing of it again. Thank you Frank for supplying this pattern. This one is for Marg who wanted to see this one cut with red roses,& thanks for the concern shown to me Marg. I still have to make the frame for it Cheers Peter.

    Dad

Thank you Grandpa and TDpainter for working on the pattern of my dad. I used both to modify it a little. The patterns you did for me are awesome. This is the finished cut and I made the frame out of cherry. My brothers and sisters really liked it and I made one for my sister Theresa. He and mom were incredible people. Thanks again.

    Happy Halloween

Guess I can't complain about the store pushing the holidays when I'm doing it myself. A Steve Good pattern. The web is ambrosia maple, the bats are wenge, the spider is paduak and the writing is purpleheart. Thanks for looking!

  10. Next time you order blades, get a pack of "double skip" and see how you like them... Just a little less aggressive than the skip... I struggle with aggressive blades and I have been scrolling for a long time..

    The Goonies

Made from some images I found on Google. My grandson and son-in-law love this movie. It'll be on my shop wall for now but I've started adding names on the back for who gets them when I kick the bucket. Which reminds me. Know what my Grandfather said right before he kicked the bucket? "Watch how far I can kick this bucket!"

    Small heart shaped box

Been making this little box for a while out of solid Walnut. I decided to add little something to them so I made a length of checkered material for the tops. I randomly cut the tops to maximize the material. Size is roughly 2 1/4 × 2 1/4 × 1 with the storage being 3/4 deep with clear lacquer finish.

  13. Folks ask me if I could make patterns fit pieces of wood they have available. Of course scaling or changing the size of the pattern is one option many folks use. But here are some other options to consider. Taking a portion of a pattern and cropping it so as to fit a narrow board, or even making it into a circle or oval using your own thought processes and individual creativity can multiply all the patterns you have collected into many more options. Or how about liking the Indian woman in this pattern and wanting it to stand alone? Just crop out everything you don't want. Use your imagination and enjoy the journey.

  14. That's too bad.. I'd be lost without my large air compressor and my welders etc.. I sprayed this with project with spray cans. I haven't really run any wood finishes in my spray equipment yet. I bought quart cans to do that though, just haven't done it because I don't like the thought of cleaning them every time I'm done. Think I'm going to buy a cheap spray gun to use just for woodwork stuff once I get my CNC into production mode. I like the sprayer someone posted the other day that just used mason jars for the canister.. then I can maybe keep finish in a jar and cleaner in another and be able to somewhat seal the finish with a cap / lid for later use. Also thought about that air brush as it looked to have multiple containers.. but not sure how / if it could be sealed with a lid out not.

  17. I think it was luck, as I really don't know much about wood finishes or even finishing wood. Wood finishing is so much different than auto finishing.. wood has grain and texture even when you sand it to its smoothest state it's still got texture. Wood also will soak up a lot of the finish. Auto primer will soak up paints too but the cost of auto paints it just makes sense to spray sealer over any primed surface before spraying the paint. Having a history of spraying paint possibly does help some in laying out a nice even coat.

  19. Nice idea if you have limited alternatives. I have 2 bandsaws, Tablesaw, and a 12" mitersaw so that would be my last option.

  20. I use them mainly on my Hegner, but have cut with them on my Seyco... I have only used them in the 2/0 and 1 sizes. And I am kinda off beat with blades... I am one of the few that does not care much for the Modified Geometry blades... I use them rarely. Just too aggressive for me... What didn't you like about double skip? not aggressive enough?

    Wage Peace!

Whole lot of ugly going on around these parts, Alabama, about face masks. ***Please don't state your opinion, for or against, on them as this isn't the place and nobody really cares what you or I think about it. I think this Banksy art is a fitting response to the issue so I cut it and am offering it on Facebook to any teacher facing the battle on the front lines.

  30. I ended up using 3 coats poly spray from the gold / brown can. Hand painted the lettering with acrylic paints and then sprayed a couple more coats of the poly clear. The white paint was painted first and not ever using these paints I think maybe it was old paint as it was very thick and kind of dried really fast. The black paint was more runny and brushed much better so thinking the white was old.. all in all it turned out all right.. to do it again I'd probably do things slightly different but everything was a fun learning experience and I got a acceptable product.

    Summer cutting

A couple of items that got cut this summer. The segmentation piece was more experimental so not my best piece. Both are Steve Good patterns

  33. Did some 3D Christmas ornaments and my brother-in-law wanted a display for his collection of Zippo lighthers. I made that display before for golf balls so I basically copy the pattern without the holes for the balls.

    Patterns Don't fit?

I do this a lot.. in fact.. not many patterns these days that I use where I don't modify them in some way.. sometimes I take several patterns and combine them to make up a completely different design. Or adding text, sayings etc. I'm not super great at actual designing.. but I can modify existing designs so that's what I do to try to make things that nobody else is so to speak.

  41. I don't have the ability or the equipment to do any real spraying. Rattle cans and maybe the cheap air brush kit from H/F will have to suffice. All of our homes here are on antiquted power systems. 50 amp per home max. So, no big conpressor for me.
