I finally got of my behind and did some work in the shed, worth posting. The letters I have left over from when I used to make and sell these.I probably have more then 100. My Daughter picked out the name, for a friends baby and I had to make VW to pull it. Managed to find my old jigs and patterns and rather enjoyed it. I made three VW's so a couple spare. I had a steam engine and a truck also to pull the names.

    Old Car

Finished this Old Car up a couple weeks ago, Steve Good pattern. Done on 1/4" popular and 1/4" Oak, not really a toy maker but it turned out pretty good.

  3. Decided to make this Compass Version with Color. Actually I like Color and a Good Friend decided on the color scheme. Was Good, so here is my Finished Compass. Hope all will like..............Danny :+} EDIT.... When this pic was taken I DID NOT HAVE IT GLUED. This one I made the N-E-S-W IN RED.... I like this better. ??

I wanted a unique name for these; My first name is Wichita, I named my business Wich and Wynn's Wonders (my ex-wife's name is Wynn), I shortened it to Wich's Wonders after the divorce. So, ta da, I'm going to call them Wich Sticks. These are Al Baggetta patterns; 1 inch square dowel, poplar, dark walnut and cherry stain, #1 polar FD blade. FYI My method of folding a 15" patterns is to use my 18" HF sheet metal brake, works like a charm. The sticks:

  5. I'm sure many won't know him but this is David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor from the long running BBC series Dr. Who. If there's any fans out there who'd like to cut this I used the free stencil from this site with a few modifications. https://freestencilgallery.com/doctor-who-stencil/

    Blade Storage

I came up with something different the other day after looking on Facebook. It showed tooth brush holders being used for something other than tooth brushes, which started me thinking. I know dangerous, right? Anyway I have 4 blade types that I use a lot and the are stored in round containers sitting flat an a trolley next to my saw, so when I need a blade they have usually rolled around and I have to check most of them to get the right one. So I brought just one holder to see if it worked and it does, very nicely. Here are a couple of photos. I know it may not be ideal for everyone but someone may find it useful. Oh plus you can increase the size of the hole at the top if you wish to hang them on a hook. Marg

    Commission work

Had a special request to cut the “Penny drop box” from Steve Good with the inscription “Brew Crew”. Since it is done with 1/4” BB apply I decided to stacked cut two and just added the Brew Crew on one box, spare one for inventory.

    Blade Storage

Unfortunately, I live alone.. sooo.. LOL. I have a plastic tube set up I bought, but when I bought my used dewalt, the guy I got it from used small pieces of like 1/2" ID pvc pipe, that he cut to like 5.5" and glued a cap to one end, and the other end it just slips on. Then he had one spring loaded tool holders to keep them mounted on the saw stand. These aren't the exact ones, The ones he used did not have the actual springs.

  11. I Designed "God loves you"pattern again. last time I made it without "s" I make a lot of English mistakes I think omitting the "s" was a big mistake. I really wanted to make it with "S" I also Keep the meaning God's G and You's Y to be together It was tricky with three "O" I made two patterns and made one today

Prayers continue for them both. Please let him know if anyone communicates with him that we are praying. Let us know if anyone hears further,

  31. I am sorry to hear that you and your wife got Covid and your hospital and rehab stay. Hope you get better soon. I got vaccinated to avoid Covid and data shows vaccinated people are significantly less likely to get it and if they do it is much milder. People are free to make their own choices and resultant effects.

  33. IF you buy a new 788, it is probably built in Taiwan. They are notorious for skimping on grease in the bearings. Watch this 52 minute video. Also, I just bought a new Taiwan Delta, when I took it apart, I FOUND OUT IT IS THE SAME AS A DEWALT 788 !!! http://www.ereplacementparts.com/dewalt-dw788-type-scroll-saw-parts-c-1009_2631_207564.html http://www.deltamachinery.com/downloads/manuals/scroll_saws/40-694/40-694%20Scroll%20Saw%20Parts%20List%20Rev%203.pdf The Delta appears to have come off of the assembly line. Different housing shape, but identical working parts. The Delta is $100+ less expensive. jerry

  34. I think a lot of people have been following the type I and Type II. The way I understand it, the type I are the better of the two. But the type II have made progress over the past few years, No matter which one you got, best of luck and many happy hours scrolling

  35. Tho only difference is the blade clamps look just a little different, but function just the same. The over all difference is the type I was made in Canada and the type II is made in Tiwan. If you have a type I, it is over fifteen years old.

  36. The only difference I can see is that the top blade lock hs a little different look has like a guide to put the blade in with.

  37. I bought my brand new Type 2 late in 2002. Though I can't find it now I seem to recall Type 1's were last made in 2000.

  42. I just bought a used DW 788 and the nomenclature is not on the motor is there any other differences that I can tell if it is a Type 1 or type 2? it runs good and smooth .
    0 points
  43. Dewalt Type 2 vs Type 1 scrollsaw DW788. The main difference is how the motor was made and designed. Type 2 or Type 1 refers to the motor type rather than the scrollsaw itself. Type 2 uses permanent magnets as stator as oppose to Type 1 which uses coils as stator in its motor. Power Off the scrollsaw. Just put any ferrous metal (eg steel) on the motor case, if it got magnetised/attracted, the motor is Type 2. Due to permanent magnet inside the motor casing. Type 2 motors are made in Taiwan. Type 1 motors are made in Canada.

  45. I heard lumber has gone down where I live but gas is 1.32 per litre which works out to just over $5.00 per U.S. gallon

  46. Framing lumber has come down in our area but still higher than what it was a year ago. Plywood and sheet goods are still more than double in price. Other building material, electrical, plumbing are still over priced. I replaced some 2'x2' ceiling panels in 2019 at $4.10 per panel, now $11.53 per panel.

  47. Very disappointed, the staff I mean. To build a little staff comraderie, togetherness if you will. My caregiver, forget the four inch reverse curve talons, I just casually mentioned her white Crocks. Did she know, I asked, that her shoes were survival footwear? Yes indeedie! In dire emergency the Crocks are edible. Not a smile.

  48. If it is that old I'd say you have a good chance it's a type one, supposed to be the better one also.
