  3. Last year I cut over 150 of these critters and since we still wear masks I thought maybe they will sell again. My wife is the one that paint them, this is a big help.

    Lambo Bull

My son's school has "houses" that compete against each other for points throughout the week. His house if the Odwaga Bulls. He asked if he drew a bull could I cut it out. I said sure, thinking he was going to come back with a Chicago bulls logo. Instead he drew up the Lamborghini bull. Well the boy has got style I'd say and a definite knack for reproducing what he sees. He's quite good at free handing pictures of characters. 1/2 in birch ply. #5 Olson reverse tooth. Base apple red with metallic gold on top

  5. I decided this year that I would give Gifts of my cuttings for Christmas to some local friends and to also send them to members of my remotely located family. Because I made this decision early, I also decided to interrupt my regular work and spend some dedicated time doing Portraits of Santa. I’ve spent more than the last two full weeks cutting and finishing this grouping of portraits. I obtained great patterns from Botas and Fox along with a few stencil patterns I found which I converted to work as Scroll Saw patterns. I had previously cut the Santa Portrait by Fox last year which had been given away once already. All cuttings were done in 5/32” thick Solid Core Maple or Birch panels using mainly Pegas #2/0 and #0 blades. All cut panels were affixed to 1/4” thick BB ply backers that were stained with Minwax Barn Red and as always protected with multiple coats of Deft Clear Gloss Lacquer. The Frames are simple 1 3/4” wide Poplar and finished with Krylon Hunter Green all-in-one primer and paint. Santa 1 is an 11” x 14” Botas Pattern Santa 2 is an 11” x 14” Botas Pattern Santa 3 is a 12” x 15” conversion Santa 4 is a 11” x 14” Blume Pattern Santa 5 (Father Christmas) is an 11” x 14” conversion Santa 6 (Merry Christmas) is an 11” x 11” conversion Santa 7 Is an 11” x 14” Fox Pattern I plan to gift these pieces to all by Thanksgiving, so they only need to be hung for display for about a month and then put away with their other Christmas decorations, maybe to be displayed again each Christmas thereafter. Hope you enjoy. Comments and critiques is always welcome. PS: If you are wondering where Santa 4 is...it is J. Blume's recent offering which I msay still add to the group, but these had been started beforehand. Santa 4 Added. Watch New Pattern Announcements. I'll post up PDFs of the converted patterns shortly. Posted.

    Hello from France!

Hello everybody, I am from France, I am 61 years old and I discovered your site by chance. I've been doing a scroll saw for a few months now and it has been a revelation. I don't speak English well, but I have no problem with the French language. I will therefore read more than I will speak. Best regards Eric

  8. I like them all! I had patterns of a couple of those and now can't find them. I made this one 2 years ago and was going to make a couple more for this season but I'm still recovering from Covid and my hands are still shaky.

  10. We had a 2-2-2 rule that we tried hard to adhere to. Stop every 2 hours, no more than 200 miles in a day and stopped and set up by around 2 pm. Then it was off to find the party that exists in every RV resort. That's where we both learned to like wine. And cheese. And other stuff.

    Blade Tubes

I can't find my blades after the move. The holder and blades are lost in a box somewhere. I have an extra holder I got in a swap. Is this the blade tubes that fit in the Steve Goode holders? https://tinyurl.com/madx7sss Never found the power cord...but got one at WalMart. Stock was getting low and was going to order blades anyway. I did find the foot switch today! YEA! I hate moving!

you will like the new saw. i was fortunate enough to buy a used BM-20 model with less than 10 hours on it. huge difference from my type 1 dewalt. if properly leveled you can do the nickel test! as long as you do the suggested maintenance on the saw it will last a long time. the only thing i had a difficult time with was the blade clamp screw. total different set up than the dewalt type saws. i would not trade my saw for anything. doug

  13. Nice set of faces. Cool idea of keeping red and green color. Your scrollsaw village pic shows you have a beard. Which one of these 7 is a self portrait?

  14. Very nice and should make for some very happy recipients. I look forward to seeing the finished Jim Blume pattern to complete the collection. Did you stack cut these so you had one of each to keep, maybe one to sell as well?

  42. My wife & I full timed for 3 years after I retired. We had a 36 ft Hitchhiker with 4 slides and a Chevy cc Duramax/Allison. Since coming off the road we've had 2 motorhomes. Class A's. Their is nothing like that 5th wheel when it's parked and the slides opened. No more motorhomes for us.

  43. I know some folks say there is less vibration with the Pegas chuck heads.. I never noticed that myself.. maybe it does on some saws that are not perfectly tuned? I'm not sure.. They are a little more user friendly.. BUT.. Not so much so as to go rush out to spend another $100.. Now, if you have the cash and want a spare back-up set.. buy them but keep the old parts as a back-up plan for when you need to order parts for the Pegas heads.. Yes they have parts that wear out besides the screws..

  44. No, it appears to be a dense wood filler of some sort. Almost looks like foam board in color, but much harder, but definately not MDF. The resulting saw dust from cutting is all wood.
