  2. I was looking for a quick piece to cut for a new decoration and I found this one on Steve Good's page and liked it , so here is how it turned out. I only used BB Birch ply so it isn't anything really special but i still enjoyed cutting it and giving it to my wife. Dick heppnerguy

    My New work

I have been busy cutting and painting, I cut a good few days of painting out. Then I spend a few days of painting. If that makes since, I have a few more trucks to cut and paint then I want to start on the Cars from the CARS movie. I believe it was Scrappile who wanted to see a 66 Ford. I hope I did it justice.

  5. I purchased the 2021 pattern book not to make ornaments or patterns to sell but because I loved the designs. A friend collects angels so this was perfect. I have cut a couple so far and these are really easy as not too many holes. The angel below uses a different font a getting 9 character name in was bit of a challenge. I added the year for fun. Thank you to Travis for these.

    First Project

I know that this is way below the level of most of you but here is my first project - almost! I used food coloring to dye the wood to make it non-toxic. Still trying to figure out which color(s) to stain the outline of the puzzle. BTW - definitely not my puzzle design!

    My guardian angel

Found this one in the Pattern Library, can't recall who did the pattern. My daughter looked at it and saw a wolf with raggedy ears....she now calls it the "angel wolf". I picture this as what my guardian angel looks like at the end of most days. Maybe with a bottle of something 100-proof nearby. 1" whiteboard, used two Pegas #3MG blades. Minwax "Early American" stain. Quick cut, there's not many pilot holes. There's one spot that's kinda delicate, next to her right knee, cracked when I was sanding. Glued it back on, sanded down the spot but I can never seem to get rid of any surface glue seepage no matter how deeply I sand. Thus the little white blotch.

    one from Tombstone

A couple of weeks ago I took one of my grandsons to Tombstone, Arizona. He was very excited about the trip and had a real love for the movie "Tombstone" and very familiar with what we were about to see. He told me on the way home that he really wanted me to make him something as a reminder of our trip there, for Christmas. This is what I came up with for him and I am pretty sure he will love it when he opens it. Dick heppnerguy

  15. He travelled the roads In years gone past A life he chose and Hoped it would last. Driving all night From state to state Trying to get home And arriving so late. He’s parked his truck now His engine has stopped And those who love him Their hearts have dropped. He travelled the country With a smile of great pride Now he drives the streets of Heaven On the truckers last ride. You will be missed Brad !!!

  18. nice project. I can never figure out how people can come up with so many ideas for patterns. I guess I am just not creative enough to understand. Steve Good has been making new patterns for so many years and never seems to run out of thing to make as a pattern. He has helped so many of us to start our scrolling hobby. You have made Steve and yourself proud with this project, for sure Dick heppnerguy

    First Project

Great start. You might want to protect the colors wsith a good coat of clear, either lacquer or Poly as any mositure will make the food color dye run. A nice dark black or brown would do well for the suround.

  20. Yes, he was an old man in his ways but was really younger than 3 of my kids. I don't think I have ever met anybody who was as polite and respectful of others than Brad. Such a loss. I'm tired of losing my "sawdust family. Everybody, listen up, STAY WELL! DON'T DIE!

Very well done. How thick is the cut panel? Looks thick. It is just me, but I prefer to use thin material for flat work since ther is less visible cut surfaces.

  29. Wonderful piece. I'm actually working on the very same pattern. Planning on doing all of Jim's "Americana" series. Unfortunately I only get one day a week to cut and with the weather turning cooler (my shop isn't heated) I'm limited on the time I can spend at the saw.

  30. Wow! Nice! I'm glad you were looking for something easy. Lord knows what you would have picked if it had been something difficult. Apparently I'm cutting way to slow because that would have taken me a couple days working nonstop.

  33. Oh no that is sad news, condolences to his wife and family. I always liked reading his post as he wrote in a redneck / country boy kinda way. Have missed him the last couple years he as hadn't posted much, but believe he went back to work as a OTR truck driver. It's sad that this Covid has taken so many lives, Also saddening is many folks don't just don't take it seriously..

    one from Tombstone

The Earps and Doc Holiday were charged with murder after the gun fight. There was a lot of drama added to the movie to make it interesting and that is truly was. I read where one history author wrote that Wyatt and Doc Holiday had robbed a stage coach and The Clanton's knew about it and that was the real reason for the gun fight. Don't know if anyone can be sure of exactly what happened but I found that rather interesting Dick heppnerguy

    one from Tombstone

That was the style back then. Tombstone is not nearly as hot as it is in Phoenix or Tucson, as it is quite a bit higher in altitude. Come see us and I will take you there. It is a really fun and interesting place to visit. Tombstone was started because of the discovery of silver and they have silver mines all under Tombstone of which one can take a great mine tour there also. Dick heppnerguy

  43. When we used to go to Arizona a few years ago, we went to Tombstone every year, we had friends coming and visit, so between the Grand Canyon and Tombstone they just about saw all of Arizona. I really like the cemetery with the sign on the headstone. Also to visit you must leave your guns( if you carry) at the entrance because there is no more room in the cemetery. Very well done Dick.

    Ho Ho Ho

How nice is that? You must live fairly close to Jim and his wife. I know how you feel as I have made a few good friends through The Village and I take the time, whenever possible to personally contact and go meet anyone on here, that I possibly can. Dick heppnerguy

  45. I have a Granddaughter who is married and her husband is in the Army, so they move every couple of years or so to a different state. She has some state plaques I made her of a couple of the states they have lived in and she asked me for these two so that she would be up to date on them. They are now living in Arizona, not far from where my wife and I live so we get to see then a little more often now. Both of these plaque patterns were made be Sam Custodio. I have cut several of his patterns and enjoyed doing these as well. They are made from 1/4 inch BB ply and have two layers. I used a number 2 MGT Pegas blade. Dick heppnerguy

    invited to school

As a person who served in the Army, I was invited to two of my granddaughter's school to have lunch in honor of Veterans Day. Because I will be attending there for two of different girls, I will also be in two different classes. So I decided to make a couple of these teacher crosses for the girls to give to their perspective teachers, as a little gift to honor their teachers who do such a great service to our kids, helping to educate them. I saw a photo on another scroll sight of one of these crosses, so I looked and looked to see if I could obtain a pattern from the designer. I was unable to find it again, so I just made one on Inkscape from the way I remember it to look. Not sure how close I was to how it was originally made and if I find out who the pattern maker is, I will pay him for the pattern, if he or she has a charge for them. Dick heppnerguy

    2021 Tally

I have 3 holiday events remaining but wanted to get a count of what I sold so far in 2021 so I can start preparing for my winter cutting/stockpiling. Snapshot below shows top sellers in each category. Those crazy Dachshund people keep me busy. LOL A good year. Key/Leash racks almost matched puzzle sales. Around 310 puzzles and 280 racks this year and had 3 large events cancelled due to Covid.
