  1. Here's two photos of my latest cutting, '' Here Comes Santa Clause '' from a pattern by Jeff Zaffino, one with a frame I made (with wood) and the other one a digital one done up on computer with Google Sketch-up.

  4. Saw this quote pop up in my FB feed, thought it was a solid line of reasoning. Threw together a quick pattern. 1" whiteboard, Pegas #3 MG blades. Pattern is stained Minwax "Natural Oak" and the backer is "Early American". ...don't quote me on either of those stain names. I'm still working on first cup of coffee, and its been a VERY trying, emotional couple of days for the family. No losses, but prayers/vibes/thoughts would be appreciated. Frame is built, just need some light sanding on the upper left corner to get a better fit.

    Delaware Ornament

A friend of ours who knows I scroll saw asked me if I could make her a State of Delaware Christmas ornament and wanted 12 of them. Thanks to Inkscape and tips I found on the forum on how to use it, I was able to manufacture a pattern and cut out a dozen of them using 1/8" BB plywood. Finished them with Watco natural. I can see why some like making patterns as much as cutting them out.

    What am I to do

You might want to try consignment sales, there are many consignment shops in your area. You could take day trips and check them out. I wouldn't approach any of them until the first of the year, it's go time right now and they are busy. Another thought is to have a younger family member staff your booth at the typical craft shows. Although I'm younger than you (62) moving the stuff for the last show made me hurt for a couple of days after. I'm going to have to rethink how I pack and transport to shows. Speaking of which......new thread to follow.

    My Latest

Transformers Robots in disguise. Oh I remember that song, My girls used to love that toon. So while looking around I came across these familiar faces. I just had to give em a try. The Mystery Machine with on the right I like that on better. And the General Lee Transformers Flag is on his back I guess.

    What am I to do

Maybe a local veterans group can recommend a place that helps vets with ptsd readjust and learn a skill.

    What am I to do

I agree with what has been said already.. you can always find places to "donate" for local charities, toys for tots, salvation army, goodwill.. mail it to me Many years ago there was a portrait for fallen military men and women site where artist donate their patterns ( judges voted on the best design ) and then there were looking for sawers to cut said portraits.. etc.. They would have designated folks to deliver these in person per-area etc.. pretty neat operation and a good cause... This was back in 2004-5 when I was first getting into scroll sawing as a hobby.. I never felt I was good enough in the beginning and once I felt I would like to give that a try.. I lost the website contact info etc.. Anyone else remember this or know where the site is.. This is something I've often thought about doing.. Might be something like this you could do in your local area or? just some thoughts.. Edit to add: There is also a company that had contacted me several times through etsy, my site etc.. that you can mail your products too and they sell it for you.. crazy % though so I never wanted to do it.. I want to say they get 60+ % of the price.. but it is getting you a little money to help off set the cost of materials.. If they message me again I can bookmark the link and pass it onto you.. They haven't messaged in a while, may not even be doing it any more but there has to be something of this nature online.. If not maybe I should start one up.

  22. Well, I’ve known Marg for a long time, and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t leak. And she definitely isn’t a Lurker, she has near 20000 posts!

  26. There are some days I curse Harvey Byler under my breath while I'm cutting... Those days happen to be when I have to cut Shih-Tzu's... LOL His attention to detail is amazing... and infuriating at times. I just cut this one, still need to spray coat it and add hooks. This one will absolutely test your skills.
