    GearHeart

Cut this Steve Good pattern recently. Pretty quick cut, not a lot of internals, the gears/teeth were probably the worst part due to the tedium of cutting the same shape over and over. But they really went quick and weren't difficult. He always puts a disclaimer about being careful when drilling peg holes for parts that are supposed to line up, but I cut the lines on the holes, didn't have to do much sanding/enlarging, and everything lined up perfectly. I finished up the larger version of the heart(s) yesterday, and will probably sand the gears a little bit thinner this time just to make sure they don't bind since they're the same thickness as the two (hidden) spacer pieces. If I had a plane, I'd take some scrap and plane it down to 1/16th thicker than the gears, just enough to allow easy spinning. 1/8" bbply, Pegas #1MG blades.

  17. Cut this Steve Good heart/gear pattern for my wife and daughter, decided to give them early (lots of family stuff going on). Haven't really cut much for Christmas this year, in past years I've had a garage full of gifts I scrolled. Owl/Wonderwoman/Superman trivets, multi-layer dragon scene, and Superman/Wonderwoman pics.

    Do you want a Coke?

Bonjour tout le monde ! I saw a draw of this bottle by Andy Warhol and I wanted to try to cut it, it was not easy. I like Coke I chose to leave it like that, without painting. an idea maybe?

  20. Separately. There's only two stains, though, so I just dumped all of one color into a ziploc bag, poured in some stain, sealed, sloshed around, then removed and dried. And poured remaining stain back into can.

  23. Each year since I got my scroll saw I have done something to be used a a place setting at Christmas dinner. Started with ornaments from Steve Good for a few years and then 3d objects that I modified. Sleighs, snowmen elfs etc. This year I did not put names on the ornaments but something that represents the person. Guess which one is me.

    Van Gogh, Good Ear

I thought it was time for another portrait. It is a self portrait of Vincent Van Gogh showing his good ear and not the one he cut off. The original portrait had all the swirls in the back ground but it seemed too busy and I didn't want to make all those cuts. I even tried a spiral blade in one spot but didn't like the look. I did better with my 0/3 Skip tooth blade. Plaque is 1/8" BBPW and 1/4" backer with shellac and semi-gloss lacquer. Frame is one of the wife's collection.

  27. It didn't come out great, but I replaced the C on the ball cap with a mediocre Boston Red Sox logo.. Was hard to find a clear picture that was 3/8" small. The rest I loved cutting. Except for the root root root part.. too repetitive. LOL I also had a problem with the U in the Buy.. the throat hole on the Seyco is long.. and as I was cutting it, it started bouncing up and down terribly. I tried putting my finger behind the blade to hold it down, but it snapped off. thankfully it was a clean cut, so a little super glue and boom.. can't even tell. After breaking that, I taped a piece of 1/8" thick hard board down, and drilled a 3/16" hole for the blade and it made an awesome zero clearance table. I really want to make one with plexiglass now.

It seems by your idea you already took some form of medicine. Expanding your thought.... Project light on to the wooden piece, then have bubbles of water near the light source.

    Golden Cheer

I made this two layer pattern from Sue Mey for a Golden Retriever loving friend. As I often do with other people’s patterns,I shrunk it down to 60% of the original size. Stack cut front and back panels, painted the back black, then I painted the front using glitter snow paint for the white parts. I used Pegas 2/0 spirals, except for the perimeter for which I used #1 spirals. Overall height is about the same as a 12 ounce beer can. Hope you all like it.

  32. I cut these 7 Santas to give away as Xmas presents to friends and family. They were given on Thanks Giving so they could be hung for the month of December. I also cut 30 of the S. Good 2021 Ornaments. Pic only shows the first 20. Some have been given already and some will be given with our annual cookie exchange amoungs the neighbors on Christmass Eve Eve. I also cut this S Good "Santahouse" for a present to ourselves to hang on the front of our home.

  35. My grandson, Kyler, is always trying to get into our bank. He even pulled a shelf down on himself trying to get to it. He is okay. Well, I decided to make him one for his upcoming birthday (OK, not Christmas but close enough). I also put a little money in it. Now, do I give him the combo or let him try all 1000 combinations? Hmmm.
