  1. This is one of the flower-design, I want to make in 2022. I have never done intarsia before, but I think it would be good to make it in intarsia style. I made it with the theme of harmony between flowers and birds. I cut Rangas wood and Red Padouk waiting for warm spring

  21. My winter shop is 68 degrees 24/7 it doesn't matter how cold it is outside. I don't plan to move, I live in northeast Indiana it's easy to go anywhere without a lot of traffic and I am too cheap to move because everything is paid for. I have a nice shop 30'x20' when the car is not in the garage and 12x20 when the car is in. Three different woodworking clubs and one has a shop for me to go to, it's more socializing than woodworking at the shop. So have fun in the sun, sometimes in the winter and it's below zero I think about a Florida vacation. Nice winter setup.

  24. A few months ago we retired to South Carolina from Vermont. Nice to be able to open the garage door and enjoy the sunshine in December. Even in the morning it's warm enough to be in the garage with the door shut to cut until it warms up. Have everyone in the neighborhood stopping by to see what I'm doing.

  25. I had a problem that the blades wouldn't cut the same as they use to. I checked out my set up it looked good so ci then checked my excel and founded the the upper arm was not level with the table I straighten it out and the blades began to run fine again .It didn't make any since to me but it did help. It has something do do with the blade tension IKE.
    1 point
  26. I have been having trouble with Flying Dutchman #3 and #5's lately as well. reduced tension and ran a #7 to make sure it wasn't me. #7 did great, older blade though. In short, I believe there is some sort of problem or the wood being used is less than stellar. Less than stellar wood wouldn't surprise me.

    Do you want a Coke?

Bonjour tout le monde ! I saw a draw of this bottle by Andy Warhol and I wanted to try to cut it, it was not easy. I like Coke I chose to leave it like that, without painting. an idea maybe?

  30. Each year since I got my scroll saw I have done something to be used a a place setting at Christmas dinner. Started with ornaments from Steve Good for a few years and then 3d objects that I modified. Sleighs, snowmen elfs etc. This year I did not put names on the ornaments but something that represents the person. Guess which one is me.

    Let the air flow

With an evaporator cooler in our home, (swamp cooler), you have to let the air flow to all rooms. Instead of leaving the bedroom doors open all the time, I made openings above the bedroom doors to allow the air to pass unrestricted with the doors closed.

    Van Gogh, Good Ear

I thought it was time for another portrait. It is a self portrait of Vincent Van Gogh showing his good ear and not the one he cut off. The original portrait had all the swirls in the back ground but it seemed too busy and I didn't want to make all those cuts. I even tried a spiral blade in one spot but didn't like the look. I did better with my 0/3 Skip tooth blade. Plaque is 1/8" BBPW and 1/4" backer with shellac and semi-gloss lacquer. Frame is one of the wife's collection.

    Golden Cheer

I made this two layer pattern from Sue Mey for a Golden Retriever loving friend. As I often do with other people’s patterns,I shrunk it down to 60% of the original size. Stack cut front and back panels, painted the back black, then I painted the front using glitter snow paint for the white parts. I used Pegas 2/0 spirals, except for the perimeter for which I used #1 spirals. Overall height is about the same as a 12 ounce beer can. Hope you all like it.

    Horses

After the first cutting, an 11x14 H. Botas Pattern called “Horse” a few weeks ago, I decided to find and convert a few other free images into horse scroll saw patterns. This group of Horse portraits is the result. All cuttings are done in 5/32” solid core Maple, Birch or Walnut ply. Backers are 1/4 BB ply either left natural or stained with Minwax Dark Walnut as appropriate. I used a few different Pegas blades, both MGT R and Spriral, of various sizes from #2/0 up to #3 to cut these patterns. All panels were finished with multiple coats of Deft Clear Gloss Spray Lacquer. All panels set loose in 1 3/4” wide distressed Poplar Frames finished with Minwax Early American Poly/Stain. Horse – Botas – 11”x14” Cut panel Horse Stallion – 10”x10” Cut Panel mounted on a 12” x 12” Backer. Horse Running – 11”x14” Cut Panel Horse Proud – 12”x15” Cut Panel Horse Jumping – 11”x14” Cut Panel Horse Palls – 15”x12” Cut Panel Horses 3 – 14”x11” Cut Panel Comments and critiques are always welcomed.

    Steve Good patterns

It's a rainy day here in Alabama, so cut up some more scraps. Not sure I'm liking the red bulb. That one was supposed to be a candle holder, but I didn't have one, so I put a light in it instead. I used Olsen #0 spiral. Birch scraps! Smaller one is stained in cherry and the other is red chestnut.

    Santa Gnome

This Steve Good pattern was published recently. I made one for my wife and posted it on my instagram, didn’t take long and I had requests for several more. I added a couple of creative touches including the little ball on the cap. The beard is painted then covered with Aileen’s True Snow which works great. I also used it on my snowflake ornaments. Simple fast cut, I actually spend more time painting and assembling. Be blessed.

    Memory gift

First of all thank you to @Grandpa for converting the picture below into a pattern. This was my first real portrait, and was cut for a friend of mine. Cut from BB with a homemade walnut frame on my Pegas with a #0 mgt spiral.

  47. I reduced this pattern, mostly so I could use a 1" square stick of oak and make the cutting a bit easier. I'm really enjoying playing with compound cutting lately. We have such a wonderful, diverse hobby.

  48. Been having a lot of fun with my scroll saw - here's most of the projects I've completed this week The first picture is of a pair of cute little animals - hedgehog and rhino; the second is a cutout ornament of my grandson's Bernese Mountain Dog, the third is a VW racer, and the last two are a "speed racer"! I was amazed at the woodgrain in this car. It was cut from a 2x4 - never knew they could have such great woodgrain patterns! Thanks for taking the time to look - as a beginner I can already see an improvement in my ability (as limited as it is )

    snowflake ornaments.

It's been a while since I've posted anything. Needed some more ornaments for the tree this year plus I thought I'd give some as presents instead of shopping. Made one for the ornament exchange at work and a couple to just give away to friends. Shot them with some white paint and then glitter paint.
