The wood block should measure 30 mm and is for setting the laser height to work surface. I think the green plexi might be for shielding your eyes rather than glasses. Not sure. The brush I assume is for either cleaning the laser or brushing soot from work? The paper and wood pieces are for testing. The marker pen is for ???.2 points

Frank, I bought my NEJE Master 2 Mini back in January. I did not get the black thing or the green plexiglass or the brush or the "what-ever you call it." I did get a pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes when I am running the laser. I used the wood and paper for test runs. My NEJE Master 2 Mini has a 10 watt laser and a max burn area of 110 mm x 120 mm which is fine for me as I only use it to engrave my work objects. I like your logo! Thurman2 points

Been a long time since i posted anything on here but Been wanting to do this piece for a long time but never could find a pattern for. So I tried to make my own pattern for and this is the end result. I didn't have any intention of finishing it I just glued it up to see if the pattern I made fit together which it did. My neighbor dropped over and seen and wanted so bad for there sons wedding in a week or. They wanted there names on it so had no choice but to do it with a marker. Made from 1/2" plywood2 points -

I'm sure lots of folks won't know this guy but he's from a show on Apple TV that my son, my wife and I really enjoy. He's a soccer coach and has a sign in the locker room that says BELIEVE. I added the goldfish because of some advise he gave a player. "You know what the happiest animal on Earth is? It's a goldfish. You know why? It's got a 10-second memory. Be a goldfish!" If anyone's a fan of the show and wants a copy of the pattern, let me know.1 point -
They put all this stuff in there so they can confuse us.. then wait for the forums to be flooded with questions of confusion and eat their popcorn LOL1 point

This saw looks similar to the Dremel I purchased about 30 years ago1 point -
Thanks John. The first one, from Good Will Hunting is my pattern I did from a photo. The one from Good Morning Vietnam however was from a black and white drawing I found on Pinterest or some site like that that only needed a little tweaking to make cuttable so I can't take any credit for that one. Charles is truly amazing. I cut his Gandalf the Gray and I can't imaging having the patience to do a pattern with that kind of detail. I usually do mine while watching television with the fam. I made this one of Ben Stiller from the movie Zoolander (One me and my son quote a lot) while watching several episodes of The Office tonight with my wife. Fun stuff.1 point

I should read stories more carefully. I always thought of Charlie Dearing as one of the best pattern makers. He sure can cut as well. But looking at the three cuttings, you, my man, are standing proud, right alongside him.1 point

Gonna open a can or worms here. Got a question!

I wonder if it has something to do with cleaning the lens.. as with any of this cheap china made stuff they might as well not offer any instructions, lol.. Nothing mentioned about cleaning it but I can't imagine it'd stay clean.. heat and smoke rise and usually finds it way up to the focal lens.. have to be really careful what you clean them with.. very fine scratches will greatly distort the power output and will affect the quality of burn you get. I use rubbing alcohol and Q-tips ( don't press hard on the Q-tip just let it lightly rub the lens.) to clean mine but not all lenses are created equal.. I had some that the RA melted it, LOL even though that was what was recommended to clean the one set I had.. I just assumed it was safe for all of them, LOL.. Some folks use lens cleaning wipes intended for cameras I think.. and I've seen mention of cleaning with glasses wipes.. Maybe the same as camera wipes? I don't know.1 point -

The 1st 8 pics are new ones. I have made for the 1st time. I posted a movie of some of the rockers. The hearts are glued in, as I feel they are a little small for nippers. Also a pic of them all together, shrink wrapped and ready to go. All cut from radiata pine 25 - 30mm thick. 2 coats of clear gloss lacquer. Used Olson PG#7 for cutting exterior and PG#5 for inside cuts. Veining with FD#3 Spiral Also tried Olson Mach#7 They cut like a hot knife through butter, but do not leave as smooth a finish as the others.1 point -

A project finished Monday, July 4th. The pattern is by Judy & Dave Peterson and found in their book, Making Wooden Dinosaur Toys and Puzzles. I used 3/4" Poplar. It is approximately 5 1/2" x 11". Cut on the Pegas Scroll Saw using Pegas #3R MGT blades and Pegas #1 Spiral blades for the veining. After sanding with a Mac Mop, dipped in diluted Shellac and then sanded again. Blades purchased from artcraftersonline.com. Comments welcome.1 point -

I was talking to my nephew about this on Fathers day, I have given him many of my tools as I upgrade. He has done a wide spectrum of projects furniture turnings etc. He has purchased a small desktop CNC for engraving his logo. He suggested that I upgrade mine instead of just my first name.1 point

Thank you, alas I can't remember what it's called. I put it in my computer, reversed it as in turned it over so that it looks back to front, I print a dozen on a page and then cut one out when needed. I tape to my work and apply laquer thinner sparingly, rub with the back of a spoon and hey presto, it's on my wood. After that I either apply a spray finish or go over the signature with my pyrography pen. Simples !!1 point

My unit is the NEJE Master 2 Mini. It appears to be out of production and no longer available but they offer the NEJE 3 which appears similar and comes in several configurations. You can still get one for just under $200 from the NEJE website. The one Merlin mentioned looks similar in capability. I might have exaggerated slightly about the shoe box. The unit itself measures 9" x 10.5" x 4" and the box I store it in measures 10" x 12" x 6". It will burn and area up to 110mm x 120mm. I only use mine for engraving and have not yet tried cutting with it. Setup is easy; take it out of the box and connect it to power and the computer and you are ready to go. I use the software provided by the manufacturer and it works well for me. It will accept *.jpg images for burning. I create my images using standard computer drawing software. I think that adjusting the focus is a simple task but have not yet had the need to do so. Wear eye protection glasses when using a laser as they can damage your vision. The NEJE laser comes with protective glasses. Burning wood smells bad, so don't do your burning in the house. Any other questions? There are lots of YouTube videos about using these devices.1 point

For Ray: try these tiny lasers they only burn 3 inch square and are really easy to set up. at about 6 inch square . https://www.banggood.com/3000mW-USB-Laser-Engraver-Desktop-DIY-Logo-Mark-Printer-Carver-Laser-Engraving-Machine-p-1338648.html?rmmds=home-recommendation&ID=0&cur_warehouse=CN&trace_id=db2916555434702671 point

I sign mine. I use a permanent fine line marker along with the date. It then gets finish applied over the top. It is dated for the year it was created.1 point
