    Latest 3 Bowls

Here re my latest bowls. The odd shaped one is a Steve Good Patter. The others are patterns that I did on the computer. The orangesh oak bowl is the finest bowl I have ever made and my favorite so far. All the angles turned out great and there was very minimal sanding.

  2. Played around yesterday cut this out of a piece of scrap 1/4" BB. Well I say scrap but with the cost of BB any more, none of it is scrap! I have a couple more to cut. I am a sucker for the little gnomes! This is a Steve Good one. And check out this beautiful piece of canary wood, being prepared for another project. May be my favorite wood.

  5. Travis just released the new book. I try to cut my designs beforehand. This year I did not have a chance until this week. Everything worked out okay. This is a great effort by the village.

  6. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. The pattern is in the library but I added a few strands of hair as I cut it. Listened to her music as I cut. Brought back some good memories. *Added some feathers to give her a little more attitude.

  7. An Alex Fox pattern he lists as C12. I used 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood 10" square. Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using Pegas #1 MGT blades. After gluing, two coats of spray Lacquer clear gloss. Comments welcome.

    New take on a hold

Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HX2EVPS/ I have used this lamp style for years (40+) and never had one fail. I currently have 10. I recommend a high-quality Daylight LED bulb. I like the GE Lite Stik 1600 lumen if you can get them. From time to time these get scarce.

    Fan

Hi everyone. Just thought I would put a pic of a fan I cut out a while back. I stacked cut these out of 1/4 inch B/B Ply. I put a picture of part of the pattern while I was cutting it. I have them hanging on the wall in my granddaughters room.

You know, with a little more cable some pulleys you could make a foot peddle you push down to raise the arm, and release to lower the the arm.

  12. Hello all, I recently purchased this set of 16 stencils from Amazon to make trivets and coasters. They are about 6 inches square and made from a thin flexible plastic, you can attach them to a piece of paper then using a fine pen or pencil simply draw around the cut outs in the stencil and this will give you your pattern for scrolling. The method I use however is to place a piece of dark card behind the stencil and then scan it on my printer. I can then print of the design at whichever size I wish. The second picture is one I am making at the moment. Hope this gives some of you some ideas for trivets and coasters. Regards, Alan.

    Another one done

Just finished this bowl, a little bit different I glue 2 pieces of 1/2” and one piece of1/4” together and then cut the bowl at 17 degree. Some sanding/shaping required but I am pleased with the result.

    Mr. Miyagi

Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi, from the Karate Kid movies. I thought this quote was a little deeper than, "Wax on, wax off." The wood is an old piece of pine I had.

  22. This is the first time I have used it. Always thought it would make a great set for the lighter chess pieces, but would be hard to find 2" thick pieces although is you had a 1" board and glued matching grain as much as possible, I don't think the glue line would show to much. I got a couple pieces from Ocooch bot are really pretty.

  23. Sure is a cute little guy. Nice job. I also love canary. I buy it in 4/4 and resaw it. You never know what it is going to look like on the inside. Sure has a distinct odor also.

  27. @Tbow388 Very nice work, I like all 3 of them. What wood did you use in each of them? The darker wood in the second one appears to have a glow to it.

  35. Same here, that adapter works well in my desktop drill press. I think my bit is a (ahem) bit off-centered, but if I put the end on the piece where I need to drill, then start the drill, it puts a hole where I need it and I've been using the same drill bit for a year or more now.

I have a couple of those mounted to the ceiling joists above my saw. One is aimed from the left and one from the right, eliminating shadows. It works really well for me. They are up and out of the way and don't vibrate with the saw.

    Who is this guy?

Yes sir, all patterns are by Harvey Byler and I sell them for him. Over 1,000 animals and more. Big Foot, Sasquatch, Yeti... and real animals like Unicorns and Dragons too. By far, the dogs are the most popular, over 250 breeds drawn by the master. Go down to the PATTERNS area to browse... free immediate download upon purchase. www.WoodcraftByScott.com

  40. Love the cuttings. If they are in you patterns for sale I may have to buy them to make things for my crazy friends and relatives that are believers. But I live in the Pacific Northwest.. and got to tell you Big Foot does not exist. So there, prove me wrong! I have argued this for years with friends and relatives. Neither side has won the argument. But in my younger days I spent a lot of time in the wood, in areas of reported sighting, and nothing. Not even droppings that didn't have toilet paper or crumpled leaves with waste on them. Bigfoot would not have wiped himself/herself. You can not tell me with a the thousands of people that spend time in the woods and no one has absolute proof yet. Sorry... it is all fun, to think about and argue about, but no one has convinced me yet. Same with the lost tribes of Native Americans that are suppose to exist in the area of Shasta Mountain in Oregon.

You got me excited because I like the wooden gears site. So I hurry to check it out and I see the dreaded words: " The program will NOT run on a Mac compute Well Darn it!
