    Grief plaques.

These are a Shiela Landry/Keith Fenton design. Made from 1/4” Cherry with a painted 1/8” Baltic Birch backer. I don’t do much word art. These sell well. I don’t send flowers when someone dies, I send one of these. I also keep at least one handy “Just in Case”

  2. I have a 21+ year old Grandson, that calls me 4 or 5 times a week just to check on me and Grandma. It is really nice, and I really appreciate it. So I wanted to make him a little something to put on his desk where he works. I made this little clock. Hope he likes it. The clock in made with Canary wood and the backer, just to enrich the clock and show off the canary wood a little more, is bloodwood. This is a Steve Good pattern. Someone else on here made one and I liked it, that is what led me to it.

  3. We have been quite busy since before Christmas and I finally found some time to get back into my Scroll Saw Village family. Yesterday my wife asked me to make something new to add to her Valentines decorations so I found this Sue Mey pattern and asked her if she like it and I got a resounding "YES, VERY MUCH". I immediately went to the shop and cut this one for her. I have been away from here for about 2 months and I am so happy to be back here with all of you. I will go back and try to post some of the items I have not yet posted just so you know I have been doing some items in my shop as well. Dick heppnerguy

  6. I am still to take time with my air brush but it is still very much on my agenda. I simply placed the backer board on some paper and spray the main color on first, not caring that the very outside section is covered very well, (only lightly), then while it is still wet I take a can of spray black and spray it so that the center of the spray is actually spraying on the paper and the rest is going on the backer board. I place the BB so the the part I am spraying is farthest away from me and the turn the BB so the next side is farthest away from me and continue with this method until I have done all four sides. This results in a sort of blended pattern for the paint, as the most dense spray is hitting the most outside of the BB and the ' over spray' is in the center part. If I get the black closer to center of the project I just respray the center color so that it is the center of focus again. Give it a try. I certainly like the outcome of this method. Dick heppnerguy

  7. No, not his job. He can be a BS'er and so can I, so it is my tribute to him for being king of the BS'er. It is called the King Clock. We have a lot of fun together.

  8. Steve Good sells them. 1” circle. Easy to add. For all he gives me, I like to be able to purchase something from him.

  9. This wood tank consists of ten wooden gear wheels. When you move the tank, the wheels turn and make a sound similar to the sound of a tank tracks. It is an automata toy in which ten gears turn on a tank with the power of gear wheels. Wooden Gear Tank.mp4

    Little Clock for Grandson

That looks great Paul and I am sure your grandson will love it. Kudos to him for being so thoughtful and loving to call and check on his grandparents. Sounds like he’s a wonderful young man.

    Latest 3 Bowls

Here re my latest bowls. The odd shaped one is a Steve Good Patter. The others are patterns that I did on the computer. The orangesh oak bowl is the finest bowl I have ever made and my favorite so far. All the angles turned out great and there was very minimal sanding.

    Love - Scroll Saw Challenge

Made this for SWMBO for our 25th wedding anniversary We are nearing 47 years together in a few months and this still holds true Top left is just a nickname I gave her when we were just dating, I'm sure she has been called worse....LOL She must like it, it still hangs on our wall today. (Not like many other things I did)

    Drill bits

Go very slow with them. They overheat with almost no pressure and will bend quickly. Don't ask me why I know this!!! I have a lot of Harbor Freight stuff that I am very satisfied with, but every drill bit I have ever bought from them except a set of Warrior wood bits have been crap.

  29. Played around yesterday cut this out of a piece of scrap 1/4" BB. Well I say scrap but with the cost of BB any more, none of it is scrap! I have a couple more to cut. I am a sucker for the little gnomes! This is a Steve Good one. And check out this beautiful piece of canary wood, being prepared for another project. May be my favorite wood.

    Latest 3 Bowls

As they used to say, "you are long in the tooth". These ones turned out better than my previous thanks to a new way I find out my angles. You can make some great bowls if you just go ahead and make some.

    Thumb screw knob

just draw the top of the thumb screw into a piece of wood and cut out whatever shape you want. Thats what I did. Little trial and error to get it to fit tight and that was it.

    New take on a hold

Funny story. I wanted an arm lifting type thing but of course I am too cheap to buy one so figured I would simply figure it out. I moved my saw under the open garage door where there was a big nail in the door. I hooked up a long bungee cord around the top arm of the saw so when I let off tension it would automatically go up. Seemed to work great, that was until I finished sawing one day and got up and just closed the garage door. heard a loud thumping against the door. Opened the door back up and the saw was swinging in the air still connected to the bungee cord. Happily nothing broke but I wouldnt recommend this method.

    What Do You Cut?

If I was to guess, I bet I mostly use BB Ply. I do love cutting Poplar, though. It cuts so nicely.

  37. Kris, normally I don't care for this type of cutting. But I have to admit these are great. In fact, I think they probably look better than the actual photo. You have just changed my mind. Maybe one day I'll try cutting one. Jerry

  46. Going to be beautiful, Dick... Love how you paint the backer. Well don't know if I love how you do it because I do not know how you do it. But I love the results. I purchased a pretty good air brush a while back but have not had the nerve to try it yet. Is that what you are using and what kind of paint? I think we are glad you are back also you alway seem to liven up the place some.
