    Oval Box.

Hello all, I don't make many boxes but thought I'd give this one a try. Quite pleased with how it turned out. Regards, Alan.

  3. The box was a birthday gift for my wife and the ornament was an anniversary gift a few years ago. Both are Steve Good patterns.

How did you change the format? A separate app? I would have changed them if I knew how. Apple changed the file type and that’s given me troubles. I feel this computer stuff is losing me; and that’s kind of ironic as I work with microwave radios that are quite high-tech. Anyway, thanks for the assist.

  7. Barb, you must have gotten into a RHYTHM cutting them. I think you did better than a BASS hit! Great job.

  8. This was a challenge for me. I have never made an intarsia pattern on my own before. My neighbor came to me with a photo of the military airplane he spent his 25 Canadian Air force carrier in. This aircraft was used to search the ocean waters for enemy subs. I found it very challenging for me because he kept changing what I was doing and he kept wanting it to be more of a model than an intarsia item. I was really wanting to making it just the way he wanted it but every change, along the way, put more doubt in my success to make it happen and added a lot of extra time to the process. This project is 28 inches long and approximately 14 inches high. I used a woodburner to make the stripe on the body of the plane black. Dick heppnerguy

  9. Hello all! I joined several years ago, but I got discouraged and stepped away from my SS. I've recently decided to give it another go and, for SOME reason, I seem to be able to actually follow the lines now...go figure! Anyway, just wanted to say hello and look forward to being part of the forum again!

    starting the year off busy.

Hey everybody. I haven't posted a lot lately because I have been very busy. This is a good thing with the price of everything going up we need all the help we can. . Here are just a few things I have been working on. Hope everyone is staying safe and warm. Sorry if the middle one offends anyone. My boss asked me to make it for her husband for Valentines day. Have a great day. Mimi

  12. Here is my 50th portrait. I wanted to cut Charlie E's Willie Nelson pattern, since it is the best I have seen. I really admire Charlie's pattern and portraits so I wanted to honor him with the 50th I glued up some poplar and am not happy with the line in his face, I could have chose a better piece. This is a Bowland Farms Brothers Project. My Brother Barry made the frame. It is oak and walnut with oak splines.

Can you ID this RBI Hawk

only the new ultra saws had the square clamps, as far as i have seen. these saws are built to use, and will last many years with some basic maintenance.

Yes, its the format of the apple phones and other products.. I believe there was a setting you had to change on the phone to make that change for uploading to the internet.. what I did I have no idea now.. I just know I had the same issues when it first came out.. I used to email myself the photos I wanted to upload as a workaround until I changed the setting in my phone.

Yeah, I can see where the AI can be good / useful BUT, I can also see that opening up a whole new world of scammers and the like.. Do we really need AI, I don't think so since we've lived without it for ever, LOL.. Just not so sure it's benefits are good enough to justify the evil side of what can happen.

I did a bit of digging on the subject since I had never heard of HEIC or HEIF. It was developed in 2015 and as far as can tell it is only used by Apple starting in iOS 11 by default they are converted when uploaded but this can be changed. My guess is that @rash_powder is using an apple device that is misconfigured to upload these without converting them.

  18. So far so good. I have completed several projects/orders since my new saw has arrived. I want to say how easy it was to re return my defective saw to HD under the 90 day return policy and how fast my new saw arrived after ordering thru HD web site. The new saw needed less adjustment and seems to preform better right from the box than the original saw. Maybe the original saw was bad from the beginning. I will keep everyone posted if any problems occur.

When I downloaded them to view them I just right clicked copy image and then I went to the program "windows paint" then pasted the image there and click file save as and you can choose the file format to change to.. Also sometimes when you save a image you have a drop down option to save as file type.. This is done on my desktop computer.. I'm not sure how you'd do it from a cell phone.. Though most photos I upload are from my cell phone.. and at one time I had issues too but I don't remember what I did.. maybe I changed something in my phone settings.. Don't feel bad about tech stuff.. my son builds computers and works for a computer company doing programming and other things... even took a class on cyber security and was in the top 100 worldwide for it during competitions.. can hack other computers trace them down etc.. but if my printer won't print he can't figure it out, Hahaha.. When we did figure it out it was stupid simple too, LOL

  25. That looks identical to the one I bought several years ago. It was made in 1999 and had a serial number 34@@@ so it’s probably made around 2000. Just my guess. I think all the vs models had the square clamps.

  28. Hey Everyone! In this scroll saw project video we make this nice little Steam Train with the Iconic 'All Aboard" quote underneath! This Steve Good design uses 1/4 inch material layerd together to make a neat 3d effect. This Train would be a perfect gift to make for the Rail Fan in you like young or old! Hope you all like the video! #ArtisanPirate

  29. Barb, I really like this puzzle project. A fun idea. you sure got some fun comments on them too. I also like how you cut the two colors as it really adds a lot to the end results. Nice project Dick heppnerguy

    First Ones For The Year

Yes Matt I made the pattern up about 15 years ago and since then I have made about 300 names. Some families have had about 18 for all family members. If you ever need a pattern just let me know. Marg

  32. Oh, my saw is just a Skil. I just got the WEN pinless blade holders and they're MUCH better than others I've tried (I no longer have to crank the bolt down almost to the point of stripping the threads OR my allen wrench!). I have FD UR blades (sizes 3, 5, 7, and 9) and some Olson's I bought back when I first got my saw. If this goes well, I plan to upgrade my saw at some point...we'll see.

  33. Welcome aboard once more. I hope to see you continue in your venture on your saw. There have been a lot or patterns added here lately so go check out what might be your new challenge. This is such a great place to hang out when you have the time. It feels like family here. Dick heppnerguy

  34. Do we give refunds for returnee's. I probably joined during your away time. There has been some really nice stuff made. Painting is a big step of progress. In general adding color have various methods. Remind us what saw(s) you use, blades, etc... These guys and gals here helped me get through my struggles, frustrations. Let the community help.

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the cell phones. Unless Apple does something "Apple". That's why I don't use any Apple products. A whole different can of worms. I bought my wife an iPad 10 years ago. She is not a techy at all. She never even tried to use it. I have it plugged in to my PC just to keep it charged. I've never found a use for it either. I know there are folks who live by their iPads but not me. PC, laptop and phone are as far as I go. Now, with all the AI popping up, I'm afraid that we have reached a point where once the machines start talking to each other, the human race is doomed.

Seems to be more and more of the postings that you have to download the attachment to look at it. I am wondering if it is because more people are using their cell phones versas computer. I don't know. But if that is it, anyone know how to fix it. I do not, I do not even have a cell phone. Not a big deal, just add more steps for the viewer.
