    Pitbull

Wanted to see if I could do a decent job on a Dog portrait. Found a bunch of stencils and images of various breeds. This Pitbull Portrait with a Heart, caught my eye. I converted it to a scroll Saw Pattern and sized it to fit on an 8x10 Panel. The panel is 5/32” solid core Birch Ply. Using my Air Brush, I painted both the 1/4” BB Ply backer and the cut panel with Artist Acrylic Air Brush paints. The Panel was cut using Pegas #2/0 Spiral blades. As usual, after painting and assembly the panel was protected with multiple coats of Krylon Clear Gloss Acrylic Finish. The panel is mounted in a very inexpensive 8x10 frame I purchased in bulk on Amazon. I think it came out fairly nice, if I have to say so myself! Comments and critiques always welcome. EDIT: I posted the pattern in PATTERN EXCHANGE

    Christmas signs

Signs that I made for my two daughters for Christmas. They are as different as can be and each sign fits their personalities. Cut from poplar and painted with craft paint.

    A few new cuts

A few new cuts and a few I decided to paint. Scooby left a bit to the imagination so I thought I better paint him. The turtle I first pyro'ed a bit then decided to paint just the turtle and seaweed.

    BRAVEHEART

Mel Gibson as William Wallace in Braveheart. One of my all time favorite movies. The thistle flower, under the quote, is the national flower and emblem of Scotland. In one of my favorite scenes in the movie, Wallace's future wife gives him one at his father's funeral. Also some of the prettiest music of the movie in this scene, A Gift Of A Thistle. Cut in white oak with a stained poplar backer. About 7" x 8".

  9. Having fun cutting these birdhouses. Been using scrap material of what ever I have and cutoffs from the hardwood dealer. Have cut 50+ with at least the same waiting to be cut. I like the different colors in some Cedar pieces and the grain in the Cypress is nice. Even tried something different with the sock shaped one. Painting the birds different colors and cutting some from Purple Heart and other woods.

  12. A quick update. When I saw the pictures online I thought the lack of contrast "lost" the image. So I took out the center and stained the outside "cherry". All finished, now I need a box to put it in. I found #2 x 1/4 screws at Lowes to attach the hanger.

    Small Fretwork Cross #2

I cut this cross from the same wood as the previous cross. For some reason, it was more difficult than the first one. It took me about three hours to make it. The first one took about two hours. I really should time myself.

    Non Scrolling Projects

I needed a little table to set between our chairs when we are camping. I decided to make a checker board table. It folds down and stores easy. I wanted to make a cigarette rolling tray. So I came up with this. There is a small routed out place in the lower left corner to gather extra tobacco. Both projects are made from scrap oak and poplar.

  22. Bob, I think they are both beautiful and delicate. It looks like on this one you had quite a few more tight corners to do compared to the previous one...wonderful work!

    Jewelry box

A client commissioned me to make a jewerly box for his wife for their anniversary. He gave me a picture of some hibiscus he wanted inlayed into the top which I made a pattern for. He also wanted the message put under the lid. I got it done way ahead of schedule but this time of year I start getting super busy with shows.
