My wife and I have been volunteers and fosters for Min Pins for over twenty years and adopted seven of our own. The breed must not be popular enough to include them when it comes to pictures or patterns I could print. I took a picture and messed around with it turning it into B&W, and resized it and wasted a bunch of printer ink and paper until I was satisfied with the size. I wanted to make a light switch plate topper and I spent more time making a pattern than actually scrolling it. For what it's worth, here is what I came up with.8 points

Latest Projects - Scroll Saw Challenge
rdatelle and 3 others reacted to rash_powder for a topic
I don’t know if this counts as a ‘latest scroll saw project’; but it is a project and it is for my scroll saw. it’s a below-the-table dust pickup for my Hegner VS22. All those Seyco, Excalibur, and Jet saws with the through the table pickups had me jealous, so I’m correcting it. i e to drill the hole through the dust port, and then hot glue it under the table. There’s a pair of strengthening ribs under it this will fit between. Then an adapter for my loc-line pipe and I get to try it out. Hopefully it won’t be in the way too much. If I don’t like it I can easily cut the hot glue loose and put it comes. it’s made from PVC pipe heated and flattened/shaped as needed. No scroll saw was used, however. All hand saws, chisels, heat gun, etc. if not allowed feel free to delete post!4 points -
Last year I made 2 versions of this recognition award. I posted 1 version already. The 2nd was delivered a few months later. I did not want to post the "jwk" version before giving it to the guy. This was based on company symbols. The original company logo was a light bulb with the filiament showing "iW" signifing iwatt. 2 companies bought us, the 2nd company started with a big R. So the wood award shows that these 2 guys came from iWatt and still work at the big R company. The 1st pic varied the filiament to the workers initials "jwk". The 3rd pic show a zoom in of the silicon wafer that I cut down. to 44mm. Wood is purple heart and yellow heart.3 points

Interesting mistake
barb.j.enders and 2 others reacted to don in brooklin on for a topic
I am doing a puzzle of tree of life and when I pulled off the pattern the middle of the "s' was missing. I took to my wife and asked if anything wrong. She said that the title was wrong. Should not have the apostrophe. You only do that if possessive ie The Lord's house. I asked it she noticed the s and she said " o yah " but she would not worry about it if I can fill in the '. Needless to say I scrolled it again with a different font as the s really bugged me. Moral of the story have the boss proof your patterns.3 points -
Anyone that knows me knows I am the CEO in my house and my wife is afraid to criticize anything I do. Anyone need a Brooklyn Bridge.3 points

I do know, Mr. Charlie E., you are the master of these portraits. Even if I don't know the character you are showing, I don't get out much, the portraits are always spot on. I never tire of seeing them... Even I know some the his songs, although if I heard them I could not tell you who it was singing them. I have always been pretty much of a "square".1 point

Dakota, It is a Zager. They are hand made in Lincoln Nebraska. I got rid of my Alvarez and got this guitar by way of a Martin that I didn't like. This guitar plays easier than any guitar I have played before and for a new guitar it sure sounds pretty. I can't wait to hear it as it ages. Between my son and I we have several guitars. 1986 Yamaha SE350 Electric that I got for graduating High School. My sons first guitar whic is an Austin Electric, inexpensive but good. 1996 PRS CE24. 1977 Alvarez Acoustic. 100th anniversary Gibson Dove. Martin DC1E. A Lawsuit Takamini 12 String (The one martin sued Takamini over because of the logo) Zager ZAD50CE Sunburst and a Yamaha FG830 That is my camping guitar. I do have my mothers guitar that she took lessons on when I was a baby. Its a classical guitar.1 point

Another practical and awesome project, Tbow. I was trying to see the name on your new guitar. I sold my guitars and amps to purchase my Pegas and a few other tools. I do miss my Taylor... but I do love my Pegas. After playing in bands for 50-years, I was ready to give it up. Lugging equipment, setting up, playing the gig, breaking down, loading up, only to do it again the next weekend was wearing on me. It's funny. The equipment never ate anything but over the years it seemed to get heavier and heavier.1 point

Inkscape Question
JackJones reacted to don in brooklin on for a topic
This is a great video by Travis. I have watched many times. Note if you are using Inkscape 1.3 - there is a difference in changing from text to a path. Previously it was object to path, ungroup and then union. Now when you go object to path you have a single path. That is great in most situations but if you ever want to modify a single character (like moving the dot on an i down) and need to get to a that character you now have to use the command split path and that will make each character a separate path. (in my example of the i you have to spilt path again) and then union all the characters. Also, the dynamic offset work a little differently. You click on dynamic offset on the path and nothing seems to happen. with 1.3 you have to click the dynamic offset then click off the path and then click on it again and the little diamond then appears. I don't do that as is click on the path and then path effects. Hit the + sign and find the offset effect. I usually use inches .125. I hope I haven't confused you but if you have any questions please let me know. I am finding a number of slight differences in version 1.3 but they are all good so far.1 point -

I learnt never to drill all my holes at once. Just a few at a time in case of mishaps or terrible piece of wood, you can always use the unholed section for something else. Marg1 point
