    Can't Waste Wood...

I had a few scraps of Wenge that were cupped so I glued and clamped them together to form a thicker and flat board to use for a project. My next door neighbors of 23 years always talked of moving to Florida and they finally did recently so I wanted to make something for them. Scrolled some lettering and made a Florida theme easel back plaque. Took awhile to find images I liked of the flip flops and palm tree and size them to what worked and even more fun to scroll the little things and get them painted. I'm hoping they like it when I give it to them the next time they are here.

  6. Daughter loves playing aggravation so decided to make her own board for Christmas. Wood used was Pine, Canary trimmed with banding.

  7. 1/8" Bass wood, FD Polar #1 for most of the cutting, FD Polar #2/0 for the letters, Clear sparkly paint for the coating, pattern from an older magazine, quarter for scale.

  8. I made 90 of these a few years back for my daughters wedding. Gave them out as "favors" at the wedding. I used Red Oak and sprayed with Clear finish. (Sorry the pics are not all that good.)

    Reindeer

Was trying to make these tiny Reindeer outta basswood. The smaller of the two is made from 3x1/8. The larger from 6x3/32. Using a really inexpensive WEN I bought on Amazon. Neither were easy to cut, the 1/8, I was doubled up trying to get two of everything, but the antlers couldn't take the micro cutting. The 3/32, I doubled up on legs only they came out fine. I got a couple questions for small projects like this: #1 what's a good speed and blade for something like this? #2 where do you purchase wood for crafty stuff like this? This basswood was purchased at hobby lobby. Not really alot to choose from. Thanks in advance, and here's the Reindeer

  10. I did a baseball pattern for the Ornaments for Charity and test cut for my 2 grand sons and then the boss says what about the other 3. I came up with the attached. My Grand daughter is in woodworking at school and made an Adirondack chair, other GD is in a couple of musicals this year and the other grandson is a D&D fan.

    Getting Old Sucks!

Not sure it's entirely age related. I've been forgetting to take pictures of my stuff for 30 years.

  20. I can't believe that I screwed up so badly this year! I worked my tail off making Christmas gifts for every member of our family, plus I cut out 50 little 3D Reindeer to give away to strangers. Well, All of the Reindeer have been given away, every gift (36 in Total) have been boxed and wrapped, plus I made 2 sets of Gnomes complete with a miniature reindeer mounted on bases. My screw up is that I Completely Forgot to Take Photos of the gifts and Reindeer before they were packaged up! Duh! What a Bonehead Stunt! Dick

  21. Here is my new set of geometric patterns with spherical effect, each consists of 3 layers, size 7x7 inches, I recommend to use different types of wood or stains, it adds a good deapth effect with spherical geometry. The first layer is quite fragile, so it could be a challange. Patterns - https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlexFoxUA

    Peaceful Christmas

I’ve cut it several times without the peace. I kept my favorite one cut in this oak pallet board.

  30. Wichman, sorry, I couldn't find your given name, THANK YOU sooo much for the advice on checking the view. Somehow, these chubby little fingers of mine must have hit the wrong key and I proceded to blame every electronic device in the world for the trouble that I caused. I can now get back to work on the last personalized ornaments for the year. Oh, and thanks for the link to the help channel, I will be looking for some information on why the lower corner arrow won't increase the size of my screen. I hope I can be of assistance to you somehow. Rick

The last of the Reindeer ornaments are cut and almost ready to be hung. Waiting for the sealer to dry on these. Again Thanks to Fab4 for the patterns, much appreciated.

  37. My wife spotted a Nativity she liked at Hobby Lobby and requested I build one. I found a large oak pallet with some nice color variation to build it with. It's about 2' X2' and will go on our entertainment center. They cost $20 at Hobby Lobby so I don't plan to go into competition with them.
