    Peace On Earth

I’m thankful my cutting is better than my woodburning.

  2. This little guy started life as a Sue Mey pattern, number NW4195 JOY GNOME I cut a tree about 1/8 inch larger than the original pattern to place behind the Gnome tree, and then I glued on a piece of silver glitter paper. I then decided to make our little friend 2 dimentional buy putting a second layer of wood on the hat, gloves, and shoes. I finished it off with a string of "Rice Lites" that I bought on AMAZON, I used hot glue to keep them in place, turned on the switch and viloa. So, Ann Marie decided that he should be on smething seasonal and off to her quilting room she went, you can see the results, it looked great. Well Ann Marie showed it to one her friends, and it sold on the spot. I'm trying to finish another one quickly, because we are hosting all the little ones for a Christmas Party on Sunday afternoon and we know they will get a big kick out of them. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my VILLAGE family. Hopefully, you will get the chance to share some times with the ones you love. Rick

    Trucks

The trucks are almost done, a final sand, and finish. The best part is they roll straight with the trailer!

  6. Finally did the sanding and shaping of the driver. I will still do some hand-sanding as I am anal about it. Kudos to Steve Good for the pattern. Introducing Poppy's latest wooden wonder, the "Indy-niable Racer" – a delightful homage to the sleek and speedy 1950 Indy cars! With its vintage vibes and racing stripe, this pint-sized racer is geared up for smiles per hour. Watch as it zooms into the hearts of little ones, offering a joyride through imagination and laughter. Crafted with love and a dash of nostalgia, the Indy-niable Racer is ready to rev up playtime and leave a trail of giggles in its wake!

  8. I recently finished these portraits and frames for my girlfriend and her family. She lost both her Grandmas within 6 weeks of each other this year. I’ve stack cut 2 sets of 3 of one pattern and a set of 5 of the other and laser engraved the back of each frame. A big thank you to Paul @grampa for the pattern making. Thank you very much. Merry Christmas everyone.

    Can't Waste Wood...

I had a few scraps of Wenge that were cupped so I glued and clamped them together to form a thicker and flat board to use for a project. My next door neighbors of 23 years always talked of moving to Florida and they finally did recently so I wanted to make something for them. Scrolled some lettering and made a Florida theme easel back plaque. Took awhile to find images I liked of the flip flops and palm tree and size them to what worked and even more fun to scroll the little things and get them painted. I'm hoping they like it when I give it to them the next time they are here.

  12. I can't believe that I screwed up so badly this year! I worked my tail off making Christmas gifts for every member of our family, plus I cut out 50 little 3D Reindeer to give away to strangers. Well, All of the Reindeer have been given away, every gift (36 in Total) have been boxed and wrapped, plus I made 2 sets of Gnomes complete with a miniature reindeer mounted on bases. My screw up is that I Completely Forgot to Take Photos of the gifts and Reindeer before they were packaged up! Duh! What a Bonehead Stunt! Dick

  13. My goal is to create a plaque that 1)holds and protects an 8 inch silicon wafer. It is like a thin sheet of glass. 2) Has Co-workers name with a title of Technical Product Lead "TPL". project in work... All wood shown is Myrtle also known as pepper wood. Our project name has "pepper" in its name. 2 pics shows the un-stained full concept. Notice top portion of pic shows the pattern and concept. Kinda a saturn ring the label TPL. Yes this is a play on letters "JPL". 2 moons symbolize his two Jr engineers. When this guy holds his weekly meetings he has a calming effect of the whole team. He really deserves recognition. His background on his computer shows space pictures. next 2 pics shows stained plaque and contrast of his name letters. I will be pouring polyester resin over the whole 8 inch wafer. Also the moons will have cut wafer material cover with resin. My last progress was Dec 18th. I got an unwanted b-day present that paused my progress. I like the font choice but when choosing a font, I forgot to think about angle cuts. See last picture. This small thin piece of wood was a concern but overall it came out great. Need to make BB plywood backer, glue letters in, seal and finish boards. Then add wafer material and pour polyester resin. If there is any cool things I can do before finishing it I would love ideas.

  19. Here is my new set of geometric patterns with spherical effect, each consists of 3 layers, size 7x7 inches, I recommend to use different types of wood or stains, it adds a good deapth effect with spherical geometry. The first layer is quite fragile, so it could be a challange. Patterns - https://www.etsy.com/shop/AlexFoxUA

  27. I made 90 of these a few years back for my daughters wedding. Gave them out as "favors" at the wedding. I used Red Oak and sprayed with Clear finish. (Sorry the pics are not all that good.)

    Reindeer

Was trying to make these tiny Reindeer outta basswood. The smaller of the two is made from 3x1/8. The larger from 6x3/32. Using a really inexpensive WEN I bought on Amazon. Neither were easy to cut, the 1/8, I was doubled up trying to get two of everything, but the antlers couldn't take the micro cutting. The 3/32, I doubled up on legs only they came out fine. I got a couple questions for small projects like this: #1 what's a good speed and blade for something like this? #2 where do you purchase wood for crafty stuff like this? This basswood was purchased at hobby lobby. Not really alot to choose from. Thanks in advance, and here's the Reindeer
