  1. I made this for a different granddaughter and must admit I love it! I can't stop playing with it! Simple but very entertaining! ( my wife is playing with it for the video, she is not my granddaughter!) I got this one from a book, but Steve Good also has an acrobat pattern. acrobat.mp4

    Christmas In Heaven

I have cut several of these and used a laser engraver for the text. Nothing very intricate but a very meaningful item.

  4. I thought it was about time I showed this one on here. Thanks to Frank for helping me out greatly. used recycled oak. Hard and dry as nails so it taught me patience that I didn’t know I had.

  6. These are the ornaments I made this year for my two daughters and my niece and nephew, also needed a gift my Lions Club. They were resized from patterns in the library made in cherry.

  7. Almost done. I have to profile and final sand the animals and then finish with Raw Linseed Oil. This will be a present for my grandson's first birthday.

  8. Managed to get something completed for once: Fairly happy with the outcome, considering this is basically my second project, first involving any kind of more intricate fretwork. It’s not as clean as I’d like it to be but it looks okay from a distance. Not sure whether it needs a finish or not? It’ll probably be hanging on a wall so barely any touching or such. Maybe a clear coat of spray varnish? I do also have boiled linseed oil available…

  9. This little guy started life as a Sue Mey pattern, number NW4195 JOY GNOME I cut a tree about 1/8 inch larger than the original pattern to place behind the Gnome tree, and then I glued on a piece of silver glitter paper. I then decided to make our little friend 2 dimentional buy putting a second layer of wood on the hat, gloves, and shoes. I finished it off with a string of "Rice Lites" that I bought on AMAZON, I used hot glue to keep them in place, turned on the switch and viloa. So, Ann Marie decided that he should be on smething seasonal and off to her quilting room she went, you can see the results, it looked great. Well Ann Marie showed it to one her friends, and it sold on the spot. I'm trying to finish another one quickly, because we are hosting all the little ones for a Christmas Party on Sunday afternoon and we know they will get a big kick out of them. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my VILLAGE family. Hopefully, you will get the chance to share some times with the ones you love. Rick

    Canary wood and alder

Ron Johnson has a game in Bragging Rights using Canary wood. I’ve made a few birdhouse ornaments with Canary and the wood sure is beautiful and easy to work with. Also seems like you don’t need to put a finish on it. I’ve had a board for over 10 years and it looks as fresh as the ornament that I just finished. Also, I had a 2x8x12 piece of alder lying around. I’ve never used alder and find that it’s easy to work with and in my opinion, very pretty in a plain sort of way. I made a Penny Drop game using the bandsaw box method, finished with a few coats of shellac. If there is anyone looking for different woods, these two are certainly worth a try.

  14. She loved it I ended up coating it with clear Osmo TopOil that I had left over from an earlier project. I’ll see if I can’t post a photo of the finished product once she has settlef on where to place it.

  16. I recently finished these portraits and frames for my girlfriend and her family. She lost both her Grandmas within 6 weeks of each other this year. I’ve stack cut 2 sets of 3 of one pattern and a set of 5 of the other and laser engraved the back of each frame. A big thank you to Paul @grampa for the pattern making. Thank you very much. Merry Christmas everyone.
