    Foot Dr Visit

There is a small trend of doctors offices that like little trinkets. So I had a foot doctor visit today and made a foot drawer. This I guess is part of a micro drawer series? She the Dr. loved it. The nurse assistant liked it also. So I guess I need to make 4 more. Started with 2"x2"x12" which ends up at 1.5" x1.5" and it fits in 4.5" long. Wood type is Mrytle. Finish is Arm R Seal. She did not say how she is gonna use it. She says it will be on her desk.

I stack-cut these and then filled with epoxy. The green one is cut in walnut and the red one in mystery wood. My daughter claimed them when she saw them, will take them to her next week.

    Im so excited

I am so excited, It has arrived, Ryobi now goes into the cupboard lol. I just had my brand new Carbatec 2 arm Scroll Saw arrive. Now for a lot of learning ahead of me. Not really sure were to start as now I can use so many different blade types. But that is so confusing to me what ones to use for on what type of woods and diff thickness of woods. I want to learn how to do fret work eventually as I havnt been scrolling for that long. Lots of different number blades its like going through the alphabet lol Can anyone help me with this or give me a bit of a idea on were to start and what sort of thing to start on with trying to learn to do fret work or any type of detailed work eg portraits, 3D Shadow light boxes. What would be the best thing for me to start doing?

Just finished this one I made for a craft fair I have coming up this Easter Weekend. It's made from 4mm Birch ply and finished with 2 coats of sanding sealer and 2 coats of acrylic lacquer. Hope you like it. Keith

I gave another try at epoxy filling the Tree of Life, put a bit more color in it this time. The previous time I did this one the colors were somewhat muted. I like it better this way, the colors show up even better in person than in the photos.

I just got a scroll saw (RBI Hawk 226) and have barely had a chance to turn it on as yet. I've been doing creative stuff all my life - sewing, drafting sewing patterns, I am a master level costumer (historical), I've been doing commercial embroidery digitizing for 25 years, and more. If I'm not learning, I'm bored, so I keep picking up new hobbies to learn. Looking forward to this new adventure!

I cut 2 more for the other office staff. This pic shows the tiny size. Learning note... A brand new blade can be dull. Stupid me forgot this and struggled for 20 mins.

  11. Although it is still to early for our trees and bushes to show flowers, I just got this done.

Scrollsaw only. The only glue I used is for bottom of drawers. Since I cut them at angles I really don't need glue.

Welcome from the land of tax-free shopping. You are so in trouble. Get out now. Save yourself. Once you have sawdust under your fingernails and in your hair, there is not turning back. But seriously, this is a great place. You are gonna like it here.

Always throws me when an old post gets started again. Didn't look at the date it started until I saw Rocky's face.
