    Fancy Horse

Fancy Horse, Steve Good pattern. 3/4 "blue" pine tongue and groove wood ( although the pine is mostly brown, cut with FD Polar blades; # 2/0 for the interior cuts and #1 for the outside. 4 3/4" tall by 6 " long. I reduced the size of the pattern to fit the piece of wood, I had to use the smaller blades due to the reduction.

    Dodecahedron

My new 3d geometric project - Dodecahedron. It was fun to make and interesting to assemble. Such projects requre accurate cuts for fitting elements, but you always can use a glue if your cut is not perfect. Video of making Pattern

  3. I made a little Collie, 3 1/2” for my sister who had a brilliant Collie named Heidi. She would bark once, twice, or three times on command among other things. My spunky 7 year old granddaughter broke her arm recently doing a back hand spring. The next day after getting her “psychedelic” cast on she had a dance recital and changed her cartwheel to a one handed cartwheel. She’s also playing one handed softball. My daughter, Bella made the cartwheel pattern.

  5. We got just shy of 4 inches of rain this morning in Dover, DE. And needed it. Just took the trash out to the road and came back moist - the humidity is waaay high! I'm OK in the garage until the temp gets above 82 (as long as I'm just sitting and cutting).

  6. Hot & dry in Maryland and the workshop/garage is steamy which is still better than touching a 28 degree scroll saw table any day. Destroyed one project and just finished a few portraits of some of my dogs thanks to grampa for making a few patterns for me.

  7. These will be for my niece and her husband. He makes his living in music and is a gifted guitarist. She plays piano just for pleasure. I used some line art and plastic figures on Pinterest to come up with a cuttable pattern. Too close to the original to call my pattern though. They are around 4” tall cut from 1/2” cherry.

  16. Dog days of summer came early to NC. Had cmc joint surgery on my left hand back in April. While I am recovering nicely spending most of my time on two months of back chores.

  17. Just finished this one. I cut it out of Purple Heart. I think it turned out good considering it was the first time I used this wood. One think I learned, it seemed to be really hard on blades. Used more blades than I usually do on a project this size. I wish I would have kept track, I am curious just how many I used.

  18. We have had heat and then we did some traveling. I am trying to get a bunch of stuff cut before my cataracts in mid and late July. I will have stuff to paint and glue up post surgery, if I can just get deeper into the cut list. (Silly me, I almost said "to the bottom" of the cut list. We know there is no bottom, just turn the page!)

  19. Ray, you are right. It's hot here in SC and the high humidity makes it very uncomfortabe in my garage workshop. We have have not had rain in almost 2 weeks. We took some vacation days in Charleston (great!) Just on the edge of the beginning of the HOT season there. I'm also between projects. Finished another jewelry box for my wife but she needs to finish painting it before I post it. Also assorted doctor appointments. Epidual for back/numb toes issue. Seems to be working. Another Dermo visit. Time to hog out some more flesh for assorted skin cancers. Used to it. Where was that suntan lotion back in the mid '50's? Need somemore inspiration for when things cool off. Maybe something from Charleston.
