  1. I haven’t been very active lately due to a few issues but here is my latest trial run. Made from recycled Rimu and an old drawer bottom. Back in the old days they sure were not shy about making ply with character grain.

  2. My next door neighbor's son invited us to his 7th birthday party. We're pretty good buddies and he calls me "Mr. Charlie." His mom will probably like this more than he does so of course we'll bring a toy/game present too. Giving a kid a wooden portrait would probably be as exciting to them as socks. The words, written so skillfully , are from Bob Dylan's, Forever Young.

Went back to some fretwork. Steve Good pattern. 1/4" bbply. Failed experiment with scrapbook paper for colour. The glue caused it to wrinkle. Finished with one coat of varathane.

They are all the same on those type. Just copy one from that link that was provided. If you are asking about the rings that hold the napkins.

I went thru all the patterns posted here and the one Ralph needs is not there. Maybe Innar can be contacted and get the pattern needed that way.

  10. I am attempting to scratch an artistic itch. Been into some form of woodworking for a while, mostly carpentry, but have made bookcases, display shelves, Head and foot boards and the like. Now that I'm retired and 74 I'm trying to size my projects to reflect that. There seems to be an almost unlimited options in scroll sawing and being retired allows me plenty of time to explore this one. I'm located in beautiful downtown Maine and some of my other hobbies are nature photography, astrophotography and astronomical observing from my small backyard observatory. Thanks for allowing me to participate here. Grey

    Napkin Holders

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone had the file for the napkin holders we did a while back. I need to repair two of them. I need two new center parts. Thanks.

  12. "Mr. Charlie", As @Heli_av8tor said will be cherished down the road for her son, but I'm certain Mom cherishes it now. Nice work Mr. Chalie, very nice work. Jerry

  18. Juan, from the Grizzly product video, it looks like the dust collection is different on the Grizzly, but, the images is a little blurred, so I can't tell for sure. I'm interested in that aspect as the membrane "Idea" was very bad in my opinion, and have been waiting for some company to come out with something better. I didn't tolerate the membrane on the King very long before I ripped it off.

  19. I had a Pegas scroll saw and now own a Grizzly G0969. I chose the Grizzly after doing an extensive research as to the components, where it was manufactured and Grizzly customer service reviews. Both saws practically have the same components as far as motor, body shape and style, and features. Most likely manufactured by the same Taiwanese factory. With the exception that the Grizzly has a more convenient (for me) larger table. I have had dealings with Grizzly customer service on other occasions and they have always done right by me and have been prompt responding. So far, I have been very pleased with the Grizzly's performance and have no issues or complains. It is a smooth and quiet saw. Any questions, please let me know.

  25. I'm just guessing but I think he's talking about using a variable speed control foot switch.. much like some of the sewing machines use.. I've heard of people doing this and also heard that some burnt up their motor by doing it.. I don't know enough about this sort of thing but anyway I just wanted to say I believe he means to hook up a variable speed foot controller.

  26. I operate my Dewalt as ChelCass described. . I agree - I wouldn't recommend modifying the wiring. . Here's the amazon switch that I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BZX4XGY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  27. I'm not sure why you want to disconnect the speed control? I have the Wen 21 and I use a dead mans switch which you plug the saw into and then plug the switch into the electrical outlet. I can change the blade speed by the control on the machine. i bought mine on Amazon for less than 15.00 I believe. Is this what you were thinking about??

  29. You are so welcome to the village. I personally think the scroll saw is one of the most versatile tools in a shop. Pictures, silhouettes, bowls, boxes, puzzles, 3D cutting, inlay, marquetry, intarsia all fun. The list may go on. And except for the wood, it is a pretty cheap hobby, after you get the saw you want to keep. I think you will enjoy it here.
