  4. Last year first year I tried these. All were gone in a few days to family and friends. Made some more this year. Took to my dentist office for hygienist. She took a couple and showed them to other office workers. When I left an hour later they were all gone. Other neighbors have asked my to make some more. Here is my lastest contribution. Houses are made from pine, poplar, and oak. Houses are stained with ipswich pine, golben pecan, cherry, and gunstock. Birds are made from pine, poplar, oak, zebrawood, and mahogony. All are then spayed with Rust-Oleum rattle spray can clear gloss. Hope you are not tired of seeing mini-birdhouses. Jerry

    Another acrylic cut trial

In my exploration of adding color to my scrollsaw projects, and trying something new, I took an actual stained glass pattern and cut it with ⅛ ply and filling it with acrylic in place of the stained glass This time I stained one side darker that the other. So what do you think? Light or dark wood? Chris

  9. They all look great Jerry! I make about 100 each year and they all get sold! 50 are sold to a local bird feed store and the rest I sell at a two day Christmas Boutique coming up. If any remain, I give away to friends, the mailman, ups driver and so on. Btw, I never get tired of seeing what everyone makes!

  11. Hey Everyone! In this fun scroll saw project video, we make a 3D Werewolf Portrait! This Steve Good design is cut from upcycle plywood and is my final Halloween Project of the season. Hope you all like the video as we make this iconic spooky character. Happy Halloween my friends! Stay Spooky! #ArtisanPirate

  17. Just my experience, not with your saw, but if things are slipping with the tension lever, the nylon tension lever may need replacing, they can wear out.

    Funky Owl

Om a FB group for Intarsia they have a pattern of the month for everyone to do. October was a funky owl by Steve Shears. I did the owl but put a spin on the backer. Mounted it to a 15" round and added a quote by John Muir The letters are ½ high and ⅛ thick, and cut from Bolivian Rosewood.

    Stained glass

I actually had the same idea but went a slightly different route. I use acrylic sheets, they are easy to cut with my scrollsaw, and I'm at the point I'm trying actual stained glass patterns. Here is a deer I got from a coloring book I used as a trial.

    Inventory!

I have 4 craft sales coming up. A couple Steve Good patterns. The light houses were from SSWC Magazine. Rescue cat from Scott Seifer. The cat will be donated for the group gift basket. Two of the sales are for cat rescue shelters.

    Me, Grumpy ?

Every now and then I do a project that makes me smile and I enjoy. This one has been on my list for a few years ( I worked at Disney World back in the 80's). Finally had a week free to make it. It'll go on the wall next to Donkey Kong. Chris

    Bird Houses

I used scrap pieces of Hardwood, just glued them together to get the right thickness and get rid of scraps better than using the stove

    Bird Houses

Love the bird houses. I fill with moss I got a dollar store 10 years ago and still have lots. Just finished teaching 7 new scrollers in the last 2 days compound cutting. I was fun seeing the amazement when the house and the bird popped out. One student wrote me today to say the smile has not left her face.

  37. It's been a few weeks since I have been able to sit at the saw,, actually any of my saws! Between work and hurricanes it's been hectic. A couple of Steve Good designs that I modified. They are kind of plain and ugly looking in the daylight but they come alive in the dark. LOL I'll let my wife paint them up however she wants to make them look better in the daylight. I used some 1/8" BB ply, some nightlight kits from Amazon and some Vellum paper. Very quick projects that are actually useful. I think I'll tweak the design a little more on the Haunted House before she paints it. I've got 2 more of the nightlight kits left, I have a couple of other design ideas that I may try out.
