  1. A wedding gift for some awesome clients and friends. It really is square. I have a hard time getting a good picture of a picture. Fame is walnut. Fret work is 1/8" baltic birch with a 1/4" walnut plywood backer.

    Old Mining Town

I finished cutting this wood-art piece on my scroll saw today. 1200 cuts. What was I thinking when I started this monster? Depicts an old mining town and railroad.

  4. "Batman" 60 x 85cm, backer board 6mm, Batman 4mm, 'cheap' DIY store ply, done with a hand held fretsaw with a #1 blade. A4 sheet for size. 4 months on and off, 100+ hours, never again. Looks absolutely amazing, though.

    Red Baron Rocking Biplane

Something for when we have little tikes over. This was a fun project. Although it’s much bigger than I expected. Everything was cut on the scrollsaw with the exception of the rockers, they were cut on bandsaw.

  6. For my daughters next fundraiser at school I'm making a load of these stick figure pieces ive made 100's of them in the past mostly with the bandsaw still need sanding and some need floppy ears to be attached last years fundraiser was a huge success with the birdhouses and feeders she sold every unit I hope she sells a lot of them to staff as I told her I can make as many as she needs for the actual sale normally I trace them onto wood but this time I glued paper pattern so everyone of them is same to mix and match species Spanish cedar walnut poplar so far will use sapele and cherry as I move along she said 36 sets would be fine as I'm making her some other things like planters also since it's first week of may sale msde 18 sets so far ina couple of days but I know sanding will take some time snd my scraps are building rapidly i I did not rummage through scraps for these just lazy but all scrolling projects in future will first be sought after from scraps first if possible

  8. Hey Everyone! In this fun scroll saw project video, we make a beautiful Rustic Blue Heron Portrait! I cut the portrait from 1/2 inch basic plywood and the backer board is 1/4 inch plywood. The design is from the Spring 2025 Issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Magazine by Fox Chapel Publishing. This design lends itself to several different uses and would make a great gift for the bird lover in your life! Hope you all like the video! #ArtisanPirate

    Wooden wheels

When using a hole saw, keeping the teeth of the hole saw blade cool keeps them sharp longer. With the repeating circular motion, there isn't any place for the saw dust to go and the teeth get filled with saw dust, then become more of a friction cut than a saw cut. This heating will rapidly dull the blade teeth of all blades, regardless of if they are on a hole saw or straight cutting blade, or even a scroll saw blade. If the blade teeth can't be kept clear and build up with saw dust, this will happen. Most straight cutting or scroll saw blade cutting dumps the saw dust as the teeth exit the wood at end of stroke. A hole saw doesn't have this capability and continues to fill the teeth with saw dust with no where to clear them. An air gun aimed at the cutting point and frequent backing out of the hole saw blade will allow the compressed air from the air nozzle will blow the teeth and the cut clear of saw dust every time the hole saw is backed out of the cut and keep the teeth cutting well and not dulling rapidly. Saw blades of any kind can't cut if the gullet between the teeth are plugged up with packed in saw dust. They become friction saws and the heat built up from continuing to try to use it will destroy the blade teeth. Charley

  15. I too always enjoy your projects as I also do this one. Unlike Scrappile, I sort of like the one you copied from as to me it looks like she is standing on the ocean beach during a stormy evening. Just my opinion as to the differences. Dick heppnerguy

  16. I have looked at this pattern so many times thinking that it was going to be the next one I cut and then it seems I don't run across it at those times so it is still in my 'to do' list. Nicely done and also an inspiration for my to try and remember it next trip to the shop Dick heppnerguy

  19. The one project that was special for me is finding I can get two or three images from one pattern, depending on how you cut your pattern. The rabbit was my first experiment and I was really pleased with it. The girl with the watering can and the witch were two others that worked out well. I have this thing about wasting wood and this works well for me.
