I don't have this particular model, but do have an older 2 speed dremel. It's ok, but did require several modifications to just get it to cut a straight line . I managed to get it so I can change blades without tools and it'll cut well, but blade changes is still time consuming and tedious. No light and I use a aquarium pump to blow dust. All in all not the worst piece of equipment I own, but far from the best. I have no other scroll saw to compare it with.

I have the Dremel 1680 and have been satisfied with it, for an inexpensive saw. However, I am relatively new to scroll sawing and this is my first and only saw, so I don't have anything to compare it too. To fill in a few of the blanks on the description:

    Dust blower - Yes

    Dust collection - Yes

    Direct drive

    Hope this helps.

I have this saw, used it for years. Does not compare with the Dealt I upgraded to. Had blower problems, repaired twice; put a fish tank air pump that was the best fix. Had trouble with the blade slipping out had to sand the contact points and make a tightener knob . Hated the blade tensioning system, got tired of reaching to the back to tighten . It now takes up space in my shop as no one seems interested in purchasing it
