PS21_1.jpgI own the sakura 21"  purchased about 6 weeks ago.  Barbra at  PS Wood has been extremely helpful, parts -  diaphram and belt repair parts receive in 2 days fast at a parts cost of about  $ 16.00 with postage. This is one workhorse. Have never had a real quality scroll saw.  What a difference in ease of use.  Larger saws like this I read tend to give more vibration at high speed due to their mass.  Increase mass on stand and reduce vibration.   Absolutely no vibration problems on concrete floor.  Moved to weed floor and had to add mass which I understand is quite common   Passes the nickle test, my wife was really impressed, first saw I have owned that did this.  Blade change super easy and quick.  Noise minimal.  This has the feel for me that I think that has been mentioned here in posts.  Tell it what to do and it responds very easy with out any hesitation.  Can actually relax and use a very very light touch on the pattern.  Stand highth is prefect. foot pedal is included ,likw using it.  I'm in heaven.

Hello there I own everything but a hegner.  Still working on the guts to buy another saw.  I have a 30 inch excelsior, 3 hawk vs systems, a sakura 21, ps wood 14, pswood 21,old c arm delta.  i used to also own a 21 inch woodtek same as this saw and a 2 other hawks.  This saw is my go to saw.  I recieved my saw early 2018 and in about 14 months put 4000 hours on it.  I was hurt in an accident and this is how i earned my money. It has a 1 inch stroke and the speed change though it is belts is so easy to change.  It can work with a foot switch though i prefer to use the one mounted on it. It is very smooth and quiet.  I have tried to kill it with some big blades above 12 that i got from woodcraft and it wont stop.  There is a drive belt and speed belt which makes this possible.  It is a tank.  It is not perfect but no saw is.  I made the loc line longer and i use my foot on every cut unless it something extremely i mean extremely delicate.  With a longer loc line i can keep my blower up out of my way of incoming projects and out of the way of the foot tensioning knob.  The blower not only blows away my dust and cools myblade but it blows the dust under the rear of the foot! I love it.  It could naturally come with a longer loc line though.  I found that having about 15 extra lower blade holders speed things up drastically.  The table tilts smoothly without binding. Ive found all my hawks to bind up when moving the table.  The upper blade system works good but if done in the wrong order can break and it is in my opinion too heavy and could be improved.  Removing the lower blade holder and flipping your wood over to insert the blade can get old after a while and an option to keep it retained would be great but it isnt a deal breaker after all I adore my saw.  The head is adjustable slightly and you can control the aggression slightly.  Now it has a very verticle blade stroke.  When I want an absolutely perfect stroke with no and i mean no blade deflection front to back I go old school and mount the old heads in the top and just use the wrench and the performance then even increases.  It seems to run better and better the more i use it.  I dont like how the lower blade holders wear out the accessory arm though.  After 4000 hours i had to replace mine.  The arm is aluminum and needs inconel or stainless imbedded in it to last.  But 4000 hours thats 10 years for some people.  It does seem to prefer the olson pgt blades because of how robust they are.  However i prefer the ps wood blades but this saw full blast and me pushing makes them break but they are worth the price if your a fast scroller and want a perfect polished edge, faster speed and tighter turns.  Dont worry about  not having reverse teeth beacuse the proper speed of the blade and cut speed eliminate the under fuzz almost completely and in some cases yes I have not had any. The motor is strong however i dont like it because it gets so hot you cant touch it.  My sakura is the same way and so are the other saws of this design.  A baldor tenv motor would be super cool.  A shop stool sits at the perfect height for this saw.  All in all I love it and currently its at my other house with all the others packed away to be delivered to the new house.  In my opinion after learning on a hegner with the quick change and owning so many hawks and always wanting that polycut 3 this saw with better head design and accessory arm and cooler running motor would beat the hegner.  If your an intarsia artist or make bowles or word art and do minimal spiral blade pictures this saw is for you!  However if you want to use only spirals like Charles Dearing this saw will frustrate you.  But hey $800 bucks and it will last you a lifetime and they have fast service and parts on hand and the service is top notch!  If any questions about this saw please reach out. Oh also i bought an extra table one for metal and one for everything else.  Enjoy the read I hope this helps someone.. And if you find one used its a safe buy the worst that can happen is the motor capacitor goes out.  Its like 10 dollars and 2 screws to replace it.  No expensive operating costs.!!!! Bye Friends.
