I got this finished. It will be a gift for my daughter's partner. He is a huge watch fan. Pattern from the latest SSWC magazine. Cut from Cherry. Insert purchased on Amazon after not finding anything local. Had a few issues with the side cut on the buckle. Ended up using the belt sander instead of cutting. Used a #5 MG blade. Finish is 2 coats of Walrus Oil and one coat of beeswax/mineral oil.

I am finally back to scrolling after a few home improvement projects. My wife bought a Peacock Clock pattern from Sue Mey. Used BB PW for front and back and 3/4 pine for clock support and base. My wife did the feather background painting. May use a similar pattern to fashion a 4 sided lamp.

Found this plan on Pinterest and took it to the copy shop to enlarge it and put on heavy paper. Used 3/16" BB for face and 3/4' pine for back base. I really enjoy working with the thin wood. I really have to go slow so I don't overshoot the line since it cuts so easy. Used a .03 drill and a Scroller puzzle blade and only broke 3 blades. My wife suggested the gold spray paint and pin nailed the face to the base. Learned an important lesson. Tried to touch up the holes from the nailer with the spray paint with a brush and the color is slightly different. This may have to do with the drying agents in the paint??? My wife says I need to give the clocks a rest otherwise she will get TICKED with me. Not tock. LOL!

Just finished a quick Hummingbird Clock project. #7 blade, 3/4" pine material and 2" clockworks from Cherry Tree. Design came from the Miniature Wood Clock for Scroll Saw Book. I had to enlarge the picture by 135% so I could fit a 2" clock into the design. Anything smaller would be too hard to read. Painting was done by my wife Karol.

Well... Wife wanted another clock. Found this design on Pinterest. 3/8" BBPW with 2 each 3/4" Pine board backers. Actually easier to cut pattern than cutting and matching up the 2 backer boards. After a fair amount of filing and sanding, drilled some guide pins to keep everything even and then Titebond glued them together and clamped. The clock works are from Clockit. Looks like there may some less expensive clock sources around. Pinned nailed face pattern to backer, and of course, wife did the painting. The clock inventory keeps growing... Not looking forward to daylight savings! LOL!

Hello, I'm from Missouri. I have been doing scroll saw and fret work since I was about 7 years old. My grandpa taught me in his wood shop on weekends and in the summers. Everything we did came from patterns he acquired as a young boy. They came from Schroeter Bros. Hardware Co, St. Louis, MO. Up until almost a year ago I had the original catalog and every pattern they offered at the time (about 1910). I stumbled across this site while searching for a way to replace the patterns because I lost everything when my home burned. The patterns were everything from simple silhouettes to intricate jewelry boxes, and even a 36" high cathedral clock. I managed to salvage parts of some patterns and a few partial pages from the original catalog. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if someone could direct me to where I could find and purchase all of them again. However, if that is not an option, if anyone would be interested in (or could refer me to) someone who would be able and willing to take on the daunting task of recreating the patterns from photos and the pieces I have salvaged that would be great as well. I do not have a single artistic bone in my body when it comes to drawing. I would be more than willing to pay someone. I just want to be able to pass on what I was taught to my son and grandchildren in the future. I have attached photos of 2 of the completed pieces. Thank you in advance for any help. Vikki

Here is a Steve good pattern I have had laying around cut for quite a while. Finally got it finished for my wife. As you can see it didn't take her long to set it a place of honor. That is right beside the hand carved cherry bowl that we received as a wedding present.
