I have found that a 1960’s style typewriter stand makes a really quality stand for a scroll saw. The one pictured here was made by the Tiffany Stand Company and there are still a lot of them available in flea markets and Second-Hand Stores. They were built out of heavy quality steel, welded joinery and they have a nice set of coasters with a foot lever to easily move the whole stand. I built the little drawer stand to attach on top and it provides a convenient location to store blades and other small items. Also attached a foot pedal on a little plywood bracket that sets flush with the floor when the casters are up. The unit is rock solid and vibration free.
