Greetings from South Africa to all fellow scrollers out there,
I have a problem and need some advice, I bought a new jet jss16 in January of this year well the machine had not clocked more then 30 hours working over a period of four months, then in early June the tension bolt thread stripped, and a couple of other things that were faulty I notified the importer/dealer who is from another city here, they collected the saw and took it back to their store, they then told it was that the tension bolt was over thghtened, (Wow I never knew my fingers were that strong) anyway they replaced the machine which I received three weeks ago, and low and behold the first time I got a chance to do some scrolling again cutting a cross in 6mm ply the tension bolt again stripped and this was in no way over tightened, well I again contacted the dealer, and have been told they will supply me with a new tension bolt at no cost to me (big deal) I wanted a refund but am being given the run around in that regard
Now the advice I am asking is can the tension bolt be modified it is rather simple in design and is I think 6mm in diameter with a 5mm thread.
I bought the Jet as it is I thought Swiss made, and on receiving the replacement saw I read on the carton MADE IN CHINA......WE do not have the choice of saws you guys overseas have
Thanking you for any advice you guys out there can offer
Les.
