I bought this saw at a woodworking show in San Jose California about 28 years ago. It is a very reliable saw and I use it often. It is very durable and reliable. I never had it break down but I did go for the new Quick clamp which makes blade changing must easier.
I do recommend this saw as I have been completely satisfied with it's performance over the years that I have used it.

Kevin, no magic word,"LOL" under the seat cushion is a lid with a piano hinge, it lifts up to allow my Great Grandson to put in his Toys, Just pulling your leg as you knew that," RIGHT"?

Ditto on what everyone has commented. I like your idea and may give it a go. I have never cut puzzles before and I might just attempt it using your technique.

I have owned the Hegner 18v for 28 years and do mostly fretwork with it, I do not have a problem with bottom feeding but wish they would come out with a top feeder. This saw is a complete work horse and has held up over the years. As others have commented all of the parts are available but pricey which I have a problem with as I think it is taking advantage of Hegner owners. Example: bellows replacement part sells for close to $50.00 plus shipping for a molded plastic part.
