New Harbor freight saw.

Normally I am not a big fan of Harbor Freight power tools. Although they have stepped it up a bit.

They have a New scroll saw. a 22" tilting arm saw  https://www.harborfreight.com/22-in-variable-speed-scroll-saw-59416.html

A tilting arm saw for a meer $249, It is their Bauer line of tools.  Has anyone tried one of these?  I am sure it is coming from the the Chinese clone factory. so buyer beware.

It may be a good entry level saw .

There have been a lot of these coming out lately, and I don't think they're made in China.. most I have seen are made in Taiwan. Grizzly has one just like it but it's green.. they also have a larger table than the others.. There was a couple other brands (Bucktool) I recently seen too when searching for the grizzly one. I also noticed they have a different dust collection set up to hook the vac to..

I'm wondering if the parts from a 22" Jet would be the same.. My issue with buying these is parts... though I suppose at the price you could just pitch it and buy another, lol.. But like with my China made EX-21.. all the normal EX parts from Seyco worked on it other than the tubing size was different for replacing the rocker arm assemblies I had to take all the pieces off the new ones and put them on the older mounts. Been an awesome saw since I did that rebuild. Pushing close to 600 hours on the meter now and still doing decent..

Sorry. http://The Harbor Freight Bauer scroll saw, like many Bauer power tools, is manufactured in China1. Harbor Freight Tools, the company behind the Bauer brand, has production facilities in various countries to meet global demand1.

http://If you’re looking for high-quality tools for your woodworking projects, you might have heard of Grizzly Tools. But where are Grizzly Tools made? The answer is that they are primarily made in Taiwan. Grizzly Tools has been working with Taiwanese manufacturers for over 30 years to produce their products. Taiwan is known for its precision and expertise in manufacturing, making it a great choice for producing tools that require accuracy and attention to detail. Grizzly Tools works closely with their Taiwanese partners to ensure that each product meets their high standards of quality and performance. In addition to Taiwan, Grizzly Tools also sources materials from other countries all over the world to create their products.

Yes I just copied and put them in the link button. I did not want to provide my info here to make it a link to the web site. I could have just copied and paste too. Nothing special. Anyone can just google each tool they have in mind and trace its origin.

I think the Grizzly has a tilting table.  (CORRECTION IT IS A TILTING ARM SAW)

As much as I love my Hawk G4-26, now that I have been using a used EX-16 (my traveling saw) and now a Pegas 21" I really like the tilting arm over a tilting table for any bevel cuts.

The saw tilts. They do have ones with the tilting table too.

Thank you JT for catching my mistake,  I was wrong about Grizzly's table. It is a tilting arm saw.

My local store says they have several in stock.. according to the website. I need to go there at some point to pick up a new multimeter as the free one they used to give out 15 years ago quit working on me.. go figure.. I have a battery drain on one of my Jeeps and also need to test the coil on one of my tractors.. Never realized just how much I use those meters until I don't have one. I even had a back-up but it didn't work either, lol.. I think my son said he hooked something up wrong and blew the fuse in them.. turns on.. just won't test anything so not a battery issue.

Anyway, maybe I'll take a trip there in the next few days. My store is usually good at having inventory but not great about getting a display out very quickly.. so they probably do have several still boxed up. It's kinda a smaller store than other towns have so that is probably why.

I just compared the Bauer and the recent Rikon 10-622VS. They are the exact same saw. Made in the same factory, but went out different doors. We have the Rikon 22" in my store and I have used it. I think it is a great saw; in fact I am seriously considering selling my 788 and getting the Rikon. The only difference I can see is the Bauer does not have the dust collection option. There is a harbor freight across the street, so I may pop over there after we open and check it out.

There was a nice "write up" in the Fine Woodworking magazine on the Grizzy's new saw.  I like the bigger table.....I wonder if the Pegas clamps would fit on either the Harbor freight one or the Grizzly https://www.grizzly.com/products/grizzly-21-variable-speed-scroll-saw-with-foot-pedal/g0969?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiuC2BhDSARIsALOVfBIf3jC4TB1j3x5b6jmWS8MKlZ15GPiYo53cNPa_5w8lwpAbFUKbanIaAgvmEALw_wcB

Maybe @Denny Knappen would know.
